I would be there that morning and explain my issues. If they did it to me after that they would soon be sorry.0

Put a note in your window. Then put a note on their windscreen. Then report it to the schoolChanging the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

If I were the OP my first call would be the head teacher. If that wasn't effective then I would make a nuisance of myself with the local police until they enforced unnecessary obstruction which carries a 3 point penalty. I would make a point of letting the head teacher know that if speaking to him/her won't change theior behaviour then repeated 3 point penalties might concentrate the mind.
Don't bother with notes on windscreens. They will be ignored, either deliberately or otherwise.0 -

Your first line is fine.
The second line though, why would they be sorry?
Are you suggesting some course of action that would result in you breaking the law in some way?
I know who would end up being sorry in those circumstances0 -
Isn't there a rule in your deeds sometimes that you're not allowed to park work vehicles at your home? Does this apply here? Are you being seen as taking up too much precious parking space with a van (size unknown) as well as a car?
This is on the public highway, the common road, not in a development.0 -

No it doesn't, maybe you've confused it with leaving a vehicle in a dangerous position?
It's a non endorsable ticket for Unnecessary Obstruction.0 -
If the cars are taxed and insured there's nothing you can do unless they are causing an obstruction, then its in the realms of the police...0

Next day I ended up hitting car in front because my OH had left the van in gear (which I didn't realise) so when I started it jutted forward and bumped car in front (showing how close they are parking!). .
I hate to ask this but why are you not checking its in gear? Thought everyone was taught this? As its near a school what if you would have bumped a pram or child? Or an avoidable insurance claim!
As for the parking and blocking you in, some people have little consideration for others. Very annoying!0 -
Note on the windscreens, 2/10 for inconsiderate parking, see me after school.0
