Unusual Situation

Hi,
Any advice here would be extremely grateful.
We have been living in our house for the last 6 months. I have just found out from a neighbour that the house next door to us is being used for Swingers parties. We had joked about this in the past but it turns out its true.
The house is very large and is being used for up to 80 swingers for each party. I have found a website advertising the swingers club. The website has a photo of the house which includes mine in view as well. They have just had a large Jacuzzi installed in their back garden and this is also featured on their website.
The parties go on until late and are quite noisy.
This isn't really an ideal situation to have considering the area we live in is very family oriented.
I don't mind people doing what they want and if they want to swing then it’s up to them within the privacy of their own home. The thing I am not happy about is the fact that they are running this as a business from their home and the quantity of people coming in and out of their house. I DO NOT want our road to get a bad name. It is a respectable fairly new estate.
Also the couple next door have 3 or 4 children.
If anyone has any thoughts please let me know.
Can i stop this going on?
Hopefully this is posted in the correct forum.
Thanks

Speak to EH(I think) regarding noise pollution matters perhaps?
Failing that, you really will struggle to do anything, as it is within the confines of their own home. They are doing nothing illegal. You may have a case on whether they are allowed to do something commercial at the property - but I suspect you may struggle to prove this.November £10 a day challenge - started 10th November

Have you got a link to the website?0 -
I do not want to post the link really as this will show my location.
Are they allowed to charge for this service?
Surely the fact that my bathroom window points directly at the Jacuzzi in the garden i have some rights?
Thanks for your replies.0 -
Isn't your bathroom window frosted? I don't think they need planning permission to install a patio jacuzzi.
They probably claim to charge to cover alcohol etc rather than run a business to make a profit.
Swinging parties were featured in a current affairs TV programme a few years ago (may have been Panorama). Its being carrying on for years and not been stopped.

I doubt there is much you can do. Going round to complain about the noise may be an eye opener!I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Yeah agree probably not alot i can do. Not worth complaining or anything as it could cause more problems than it would solve. We don't have anything to do with them (they haven't even said hello since we moved in) and they seem to keep things very private.
as long as our street doesn't get a reputation as a red light district i don't mind.
oh and if someone turns up at my door in a full pvc outfit then i'm calling the police! :-)0 -
If you can't beat them, join them:D0

Admit it. You're just p*ssed that you haven't been invited, aren't you?

How will the street resemble a "red light district"? That would involve girls walking the streets and punters kerb crawling.
Swinging is often very middle class and happens in "respectable" neighbourhoods, maybe your neighbours are just a little less discreet than others who hold these types of parties (though you said yourself that a neighbour had to tell you what was really going on, for all you know it could have just been standard parties they were having)0 -
Have they got pampas grass in the garden?0
