I have letters from Lloyds bank with my account number and sort code on from last year.
This means that they must have some sort of record of your account (even if the letters were generic GDPR bumf, etc) so there shouldn't be any need to involve the mylostaccount site.

It sounds like you've already done much of what's suggested at https://www.lloydsbank.com/current-accounts/unclaimed-dormant-accounts.asp so if that's still drawn a blank then (given their knowledge of the account last year) it's probably worth complaining to Lloyds, via https://www.lloydsbank.com/contact-us/how-to-complain.asp.
  • I assume the letter you received was from the bank to say you had not used your account for x period of time and the funds will be moving to the Reclaim Fund & to get your money back you need to go onto mylostaccount website.

If this is the case and it is not showing on mylostaccount website, go into the branch with the letter. Once the branch staff see the letter they will be able to escalate it internally to find your account & they can request your money back from the RFL to then send back to you in another account that is active.

If it has gone to the Reclaim Fund then the account would have been closed

  • Just an update, I went on the resolver website a few days ago which Martin Lewis talks about and today I received a phone call from Lloyds bank to say that they will refund the money to my bank account today and were very apologetic about it.

Incredible that a simple complaint and "suddenly" the account is found and the money returned. Well done and thanks for updating the thread too.
