New build, not built to plan

If the house it was overlooking is also built by your developers I would imagine the buyer of that house kicked off about the window and negotiated that it be removed as a condition of them buying the other property?0

You're not going to get your window so how much are you looking for in compensation? Their offer of £500 seems to me some kind of acceptance that thay are at fault, reply with your figure and go from there. It's nothing , not nothink.0

The builders told us that as if it was some sort of regulation.
They're wrong.
The requirement for side facing windows on the first floor or above is that they are either situated 1.7 metres above floor height OR that they are obscured glazed.
Bear in mind for overlooking, the required distance between house increases with each floor. Different authorities have different rules, but in mine as a n example, it's 21 metres for two storey houses and 27 metres for two storey. The distance is also increased if the land is sloping.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
