Obviously this offer is limited to the Aberdeen clinic but an excellent price for just Lasik.

If like me, you will require Wavefront Intralase Lasik, then it's an additional £650 per eye. Total price for Wavefront Intralase Lasik = £2200

The founder of Optimax, Russell Ambrose, also "sells laser eye treatment" on eBay. To some it may sound like the the whole treatment has just been made very trivial, considering we're talking about eyesight here. It's just business strategy really.

Lasik treatment is £1400 for both eyes. Not as good as the Aberdeen office, but it's still £400 off the normal price and you have a choice of locations for treatment.

However, if you're going for the Wavefront Intralase Lasik then total price for both eyes (via eBay) £2290

Just search for the seller RussellAmbrose on eBay.

I've got my Consultation on 23rd and inshallah looking to have my treatment the same day.
  • If you are going abroad on holiday, it may be worth checking out the prices locally. A friend went to India in the summer for a holiday and got his eyes done while there and it only cost £300 for BOTH eyes.
The site is below if anyone is interested and one of the top clinics there

  • May suggest anybody thinking about this particular offer reads the article in the Sunday Mail newspaper first, regarding the lady who experienced difficulties in Aberdeen.

According to this link I found via Wikipedia, the flap never heals fully.

In conclusion, the fragile adherence of the corneal flap even years after a LASIK procedure merits a discussion between the ophthalmologist and the patient. It should be a part of all informed consent procedures during LASIK surgery

really interested in this offer for both myself and my wife (both long sighted), slightly worried by it all but seems a good price.
Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!
  • Does the Ebay price change depending on your level of short-sightedness. I went along for a consultation a few years back thinking it would cost about £800 when they said due to my eyesight prescription it would in fact cost £1700. Came away very disappointed as I couldn't afford that much.

I had my eyes done in March this year at the Optimax clinic in Birmingham. I got the eBay price for epi-lasik with wavefront for both eyes and it cost me £1090 including all consultations and aftercare.

I am very pleased with the results and am going to go for my final aftercare appointment soon - hopefully I will be discharged! My life is brilliant without glasses.

    I recommend them highly.
    3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!
