Peugeot 207 brake lights not working

Both brake lights on my Peugeot 207 aren't working, only the high level brake light above the rear window is. Anyone know what the problem here is? It's not the bulbs as it would be a coincidence if they had both went at the same time plus I've already checked that it's not the bulbs.

At least now you know it is possible for two bulbs to go in short order. Personally when it comes to things like brake lights, side lights, headlights where both sides operate for the same amount of time I expect the other one to go not long after the first unless I know its been changed already.
