I was having this conversation with some friends. She says her daughter was off all formulas and onto whole organic milk by 12 months, the other said she did this at 20 months.
When did you take your baby off formula altogether and just use cows milk?

Hi I think the general is not until a year old at least as they still need the extra nutrition from the babys milk(Ithink).I did all of mine by 1yr but advice changes so rapidly , you could ask you HV.:smileyhea:heart: Mrs Lea Nov 5th '11

My DD is 14 months and has been on whole cows milk since she turned a year old.
I did replace one of her formula bottles with cows milk from the age of 11 months so she would get used to the taste. She eats a healthy and varied diet so this hasn't been a problem.:dance:Sealed Pot Challenge #338:dance: £1170 to go to be debt free0 -

the health guidelines are that you can use cows milk from 6 months when adding to food (such as cereal / custard) or 12 months to replace formulaGive blood - its free0

I breastfed until well after one year and so didn't use formula at all - straight from breast to cows. But, did start to use cows from 6 months in food.0

Our son is 12 months next saturday and we plan to start introducing cows milk then. He's been having it in cooking and on cereal since 8-9 months though, he would have had it at 6 months, but he was still on hypoallergenic milk and we didn't know if he had allergies or not.
Thankfully when we reintroduced regular formula, all was fine and no problems since.
He often has a sip of mummy's glass of milk and seems to like it.0 -
I finished what I had in the house after their first birthday then switched0
