  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Bella.....sorry to hear about your sons accident, I would report it to the police myself, glad he was not badly injured. Afraid I would not cycle on todays roads for a million pounds!!

Decent night, was wiped out after Physio and then Aldi......did not have to get up for the loo for a change.

Lady coming this morning to go over our wills, not that we have property or a vast amount of money, I also need to talk to her about power of attorney. I already deal with the finances, but if I should pop my clogs I have no idea how OH would cope.

Its blooming cold here this morning, The electric stove we bought is very nice but I do miss the coal fire.......especially in the afternoon......will have to put the heating up a notch.

No plans, might run the dyson over the sitting room carpet, will have to tackle the kitchen tomorrow, no sign of the cleaner coming back, looks like I am going to have to look for someone else. Its a shame, she was the best cleaner we have had.

Towels in the washer, they will have to go in the dryer, the leccy bill is going to be sky high this month, hey ho, its only money!!

Changed last nights supper as I was so tired, we had smoked haddock and poached egg with bread and butter. I found a pack of mince pies in the cupboard, so one with a dob of ice cream for dessert.

About to put the PKP on with leek and potato soup for lunch today.

Morning all, I had a lie-in until 5 and have been pootling about since then.

I stayed at home yesterday as it was just bitterly cold here, with the exception of a short walk to feed the ducks, made even shorter by being mobbed by seagulls. They have the ability to recognise a bag of bread from quite a distance. I must nip to town today though.

As ever I have things to do but am practising my avoidance techniques like a goodUn.

Bella, Gers has posted what I would have put, I woukd be inclined to report this because if that's this driver's approach to knocking someone off their bicycle, what other poor driving behaviour does he indulge in?

Thinking of those of us who are unwell or worried.

The company is a large one and have been ok and finally sent me their insurance details after 2 calls from me and launched an investigation into it DS did call the police but they had no-one available to come to a minor RTA:mad:
DS is still sleeping as he is struggling with the pain in his elbow but will call his insurance when he gets up its just such a palaver for someone elses negligence x

    Morning everyone

I have just been reading back over some of the threads I have missed and everyone seems to have had so much going on for them since the middle of December!

Taff I was sorry to read about your results and the need for another op. You don’t need flu on top of everything; I hope that you are starting to feel a bit better now. I really do admire your positive attitude towards dealing with what is being thrown at you.

Snoozer I hope that your husbands’ chemotherapy goes well and he starts to feel a bit better.

Dumpling I was sorry to read about your illness and spell in hospital, I hope that your legs start to improve.

Love the chair Gers. It looks so comfortable.

Specky I’ve only just realised that you have moved to Manchester, it sounds like you are settling in well. I hope that you have a good weekend back home for your dad’s birthday.

Bellabella that was scary for your son, thank goodness he wasn’t more seriously hurt.

Silver-oldie I hope that the meeting at the care home goes ok next week.

Nannywindow I hope that Mr Fixit makes up his mind about which chair he wants fairly quickly.

Dp1 congratulations on becoming a grandmother.

TA it sounds like that was some mammoth shopping trip yesterday!

Nelski I would have been livid if I were you, over the watch. I don't think your mum appreciates what you do for her at all, which is a shame as you do so much.

I hope that all of you who have been laid low with the bugs doing the rounds soon start to feel better.

Sorry I haven't mentioned everyone individually, I did want to, but then realised the post would probably go on for pages!

I’m starting to feel physically much better since the op last week. I’ve been having carers come in four times a day but hope to cut them down to three times from tomorrow, then twice daily from Monday. I shouldn’t need them at all by the middle of next week, so that is good progress.

The Mental Health Services are being excellent, and the Home Treatment Team is visiting daily, my care coordinator twice a week and the consultant visited earlier this week. They have put a variety of options on the table for me which is good, but I will see what I think I will find helpful in a couple of weeks.

Right now I’m starting to feel a lot more positive. There isn’t much point in dwelling on what has happened over the last year, it can’t be changed. What I want is to regain my physical health by the summer and try and enjoy the warm weather. Getting back to enjoying my people watching in the local park and cafes, and having trips to the seaside. I’ve decided that is what I’m going to focus on and aim for.

    Take care everyone x

Holly, good to hear from you. I'm glad you are getting the care you need.
  • Had to come back and say how much more positive you sound Holly, so pleased that the support people have stepped up to the mark too your treatment last year was horrific and completely undeserved.

Looking forward to hearing more from you in the coming weeks, take care........gentle (((((((((( hugs)))))))))).
  • Lovely to hear from you Holly.
Specky have you been to the football muses in Manchester. I went last year when I was over staying with family it’s very good.
TA I wish you lived near me, our local butchers won the world sausage making competition last year so their sausages are officially best in the world. They are beef sausages and very very nice. He also does cabbage and bacon sausages which are lovely too.
Not much happening here just life going on, going to make a shepherds pie for dinner as I’m off today. Will run the hoover around later too.

    Afternoon all
I had good sleep last night but woke after my usual "go to " dream about trying to pack anything and everything into a multitude of bags :(
Anyway we were up and at 'em early this morning to go to town visiting the BS, the bank, the library and Mr Fix It has bought some new walking boots at last. We were on a roll so we went back to re- visit the chairs..... success :j Mind you I wasn't leaving the shop until one was ordered, so I decided to have a sit in :rotfl:
Hopefully there will be no more big ticket item shocks again this year
We found a massive As*a so had lunch there, then did a small shop. I also bought Mr Fix It another replacement frying pan . But today I was also able to buy myself a radio alarm clock and some schoolgirl socks ( I like knee high thick socks but it's difficult to find ladies ones, plus the kids ones are cheaper ;) )
No cooking needed tonight for tea and as we've used up most of our calories on lunch, we may just have some fruit. I will also do a stint on the cross trainer, I started back on it on Monday and my knees don't half moan about it . However I am hoping it will help strengthen my thighs too, as I'm having a problem getting up when bending down near the floor . It's a bit embarrassing when you are in Tes*o's and trying to get up from squatting after reaching the bottom shelf. I have to call Mr Fix It to help me stand upright again :rotfl::rotfl:

Bella I hope your DS recovers from his accident quickly. It must have shaken him up.
Holly lovely to hear from you and with such an upbeat attitude :j. Long may that continue :A.
Nelski sorry that you are having awful dreams. Glad your dentist is on the ball, better to get it sorted before it becomes a big problem.
dp1 It's lovely to hear that Mum and baby are doing well. Have a cuddle for me too please :D
Hugs all round today. Keep warm and stay safe.
    nan xx
