Excel parking demands

Went to Iceland supermarket back in November last year, parked paid and did my shopping came back to the car to a Pcn on my windscreen with a warning slip.
I then got a letter two weeks later for payment of £60 i ignored it but got another at the end of December for £100.
Todat I got a third letter saying they’ve transferred it to a debt collection agency do not ignore and it’s with a £60 fee added (no debt company name) the letter also states If I dont pay within 14 days they may take me to court and also ask for court, solicitor and interest fees from me (the letter says posted 28/12/18 and arrived today 09/01/19 leaving me 2 days to now pay £160)

The fine says I parked in a disabled bay with no badge displayed, the bay has no disabled only parking signage on any of the walls or on the pay meter and has a very worn cracked barely noticeable disabled sign painted on the floor with no box markings, the space next to me had a clear bright box marking painted and a disabled sign painted on the floor but again no signage on the wall or any posts etc.

Do I pay this with the fees added or continue to ignore it and see if they do proceed with court action it’s a private firm called excel parking it’s not a council one but they are part of the bpa now.

The photos they took of my car doesn’t all show a ticket placed on my windscreen, they don’t show the disabled sign painting under my car at all but they do show there is no disabled only parking signage anywhere even behind my car on the wall. Thanks all x

    Nicolelg_123, welcome.

Can I suggest that if you want help then it is a good idea to present your case so that it can be easily read.

That slab of text you have thrown at us is not likely to encourage responses.

Help others to help you - have you got a new paragraph key on your mobile telephone?

Excel are IPC AOS members (plus they remain BPA corporate memebers as well, which wont help this OP with her case as IPC rules apply)

please edit post #1 into readable paragraphs

it’s a private firm (excel parking) not a council one but they are part of the bpa now.
Nope, they haven't been in the BPA AOS for 4 years. They are in the IPC.

I can't read the rest as it needs paragraph breaks, please.

You can find out what to do by reading the NEWBIES thread. No link, it's at the top.

If Umkomaas is right and you are trying to view this forum on a phone, don't. You can't really use this forum, or see everything properly, on a phone and you won't do justice to yourself by missing the threads we already have.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You are sadly out of touch with this whole private parking scam.
Excel are not BPA AOS members.
You do not have a "fine".
Ignore hasn't been recommended for years.

But you are where you are you can ignore scummy debt collectors, but don't ignore real court papers.

What happened when you complained to Icelnd about their contractors predatory tactics and lack of signage?

Post #6 above surely answers that question, doesn't it?

    You do look alike...! :rotfl:

  • The threatening 3rd letter I’ve received makes me worry so I’ve asked if it’s possible to keep ignoring or will I be liable to pay and they will pursue it I don’t see any replies specifically telling me yes pay your get more action from this company or no don’t pay their a scam they can’t/won’t take you to court
