LPG tank problems

Dear all,

I hope you can help with this. We moved into our house a couple of years ago and have a standing LPG tank outside. Having got fed up of the increasing prices, we decided to try and switch suppliers.

Unfortunately, the new supplier wont deliver as they say that the tank does not meet regulations and that it needs to be moved etc etc....

As such, I had to approach the old supplier who, guess what, now says that the tank may need to be moved as the other supplier wont deliver. This is very frustrating as they were happy to deliver for the last two years (never made comment) and came out to inspect our tank (it passed) as recently as 28th December.

Has anyone encountered this? Also, can I get a refil from anywhere while I work out what to do? The old supplier still owns the tank so presumably they would still top it up?

In the worst case scenario, what sort of cost is involved in reciting the tank and is it our responsibility to pay for all of it (I assume that the previous suppler should be liable for something if they did not comply with regulations whilst they owned the tank).

Hopefully someone has some sage advice!

Dont know if the deal is still going, but Color would supply & fit a tank for free about 2 months ago. Might be worth a look. Guarantee it will be a long contract. But its got to be a thousand-pound saving.

Thanks for the reply. I asked them about that but unfortunately there's no financial help available as part of a deal at the moment. Sadly, the only thing we could do was to stay put with the old supplier but the gas did at least get a bit cheaper.
