    Whatever you do, do NOT go round to the property and tell the lady you want to measure her crack... that just leads to trouble

    Unfortunately, it's a common theme. I've been to see 4 houses and each time the estate agent has been clueless about the property. We have basically had then come out to unlock the door
  • apparently an old school way of telling if a crack was stable was to super glue a glass microscope slide across the crack, if it didn't break the crack was stable!

    This is still used today, bit of mortar over the crack and if it fractures you've got movement.
