Broken Phone, Repair or Replace?

Hi,
I have a broken Google Pixel 2 Plus phone, no insurance so it's going to cost almost £400 for an early upgrade as I still have ~10 months on the contract.
I've never broken a mobile in my life, owned phones since 1994 so I didn't bother getting insurance!
The phone has a badly cracked screen, it was working OK today (with the crack) but now will not charge, does anyone know if getting the screen replaced would fix the charging issue as if so I will do that instead of getting a new phone. It's about £80 for a new screen, don't want to pay that if the phone still will not charge.
Alternatively, if the phone is beyond economic repair, I might get a cheap smartphone to tide me over for a few months, what can people recommend that is half decent for under £30 a month, ideally cheaper!
Thanks.

It is probably better to buy the (unlocked) phone you'd prefer, use it on your existing contract and then get a much cheaper sim only contract when that expires. You are generally paying a lot more for the privilage of spreading the cost over 24 months or "upgrading" to the latest expensive toy at the end of each minimum term otherwise.0

You can get a very decent smartphone for £150 or even less.
If you can't afford paying £150 outright, then you can't afford a £30 p.m. contract. As simple as that.0 -
Stop thinking in terms of "upgrading" and "per month".

Based on my experience 'refurbished' phones from Argos-ebay are essentially brand new returns.0 -
If you say your phone beyond economic repair then i would suggest sell it. There are a lot of online platforms where you can sell it. By selling, even if it is badly damaged, you will get money and can buy new mobile by adding a little more money. That way you will not have burden of spending a lot of money on buying a new phone. You can sell your mobile at sellthemobile, sell&buy, sell your phone etc. I did too and I do not regret it.0
