There’s nothing wrong at all I’m using their as money for shoes! It’s so much better than choosing a toy which will be their favourite for about, oh, five minutes (or is it just my little ones that do that?!)0

Sorry that should have read ‘there’s nothing wrong at all in using their Xmas money for shoes’!! My autocorrect has a mind of its own and the edit post button wouldn’t work! :rotfl:0

Thanks wannabe. Dropped Roo off at Beavers so I decided to take May to Tesco to look at shoes. I went to Lidl first and got eggs, bread and malt wheats i spent £2.72. and then went to tesco and got Jam for 28p. So £17 left for the week. We tried on a lot of shoes for May but they were £20 and none of them fit that well. I've found a couple of new pairs on Ebay for £10ish but I don't know if they will fit. I'm going to the city tomorrow so I can have a look in Primark then. Another way I've saved money today apart from taking BF lunch is me and May usually have a coffee and babycinno whilst Roo is at Beavers. We ran out of time but I decided even if we had have done, I would only have had a tea instead of a coffee, so it would cost £1.55 instead of £4.10.
I have so much to spend out on at the moment. I have an unpaid solicitors bill of £300 i need to find. Roo needs a haircut at £8. I have 2 kids parties to buy presents for at the weekend so thats £20 (we'll make the cards!) I have a night out which BF will mostly pay for but I'd like to contribute something towards it. Both children need shoes. I need to pay May's rainbows invoice. Roo needs new Pyjamas! Randomly and I know this is stupid, I need to buy a pencil sharpener! The children draw all the time, but we have established that we have 100's of pencils and no sharpeners!!! So I need to buy one of those.... I need to write a cohesive list of amounts and then work out how I'm going to find the money!!!0 -

I think your DS is much smaller than mine isn't he?
I'm not sure if it helps but. I buy all the smalls PJ's from Character.com when they have there sales on. They go to 1.95 & 2.95 a pair. Smalls school shoes this time are from Asda but I usually use Shoezone.
Does the budget for the children's parties have to be £10 each? Could you not pick a small game or something smaller up in Mr T or similar? they have loads of good things in for £3 & £4.“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”0 -

Roo is 7, in 7-8's I saw lots of reduced PJs in Tesco but they had nothing the right size. I have looked on gumtree and Facebook but everything I've messaged about has already gone. I have never heard of Character.com! I will have a look! I will have a look in Shoezone too!
I looked in tesco also and saw nothing that looked decent enough for presents, one is for a very good friends son, and the other is a boy from school. I will have a quick look on amazon and maybe £1 land....0 -
With the gifts, could you do a re-gift or have a look in the Christmas gift sales? I picked up two gifts today for £2 each, were originally £5 each0

Apologies didn't realise on the cross posting, my things were from D3benh4ms0

If you have prime Amazon is a good idea. I never spend more than £5 and even then I try and do less
Or Argos 2 for £15? not saving as much as halving the cost but still a little.
Yeah my DS is older in Age 10. I buy from Character usually twice a year. They wash amazing and don't shrink! Mine live in PJ's at home so are washed and back on quite often.

In other news, smalls really didn't like the stew..... I didn't give them anything else though. I misjudged and theres only enough for BF's dinner. I will probably have some porridge or i bought some pasta and sauce things the other day, I could always have one of those. Also when i was in tesco, I picked up some slippers for me...now i don't tend to wear them but i do get cold feet..... I carried them around and then decided that I have tons of slipper socks I should just wear those instead, and in reality I probably wouldn't wear them... I put a load in the charity bag the other week, I think I still have the bag... will rifle through it later.
it really is a switch in mindset for me...0
