Frustration with website specific deals
Options
Hi,
My contract with virgin is up for renewal and i'm trying to downgrade from £15 a month for 20gb, 2200 mins, unlimited texts.
I don't use close to my allowance so i'm looking for around to 8-10 gb for £10 give or take.
Virgin retentions have said they will try to match any deal I find but they want to see it on the company website and the deals i've found seem to be exclusive only to comparison sites.
ID mobile has 300 minutes and 9gb for £10
Vodaphone has unlimited minutes and 8gb for £10 but it is on there restricted basics sim.
I can't find any of these deals listed on their respective websites- links from the comparison sites go to a specialsection of vodaphone which I can't access through the website (i've read for their basics sim you can only link in through third party websites).
ID mobile goes straight to their basket- again no comparable deal on their website.
It's very frustrating.
I've also had virgin ringing me to offer me exclusive customer deals but they just want to up sell me by doubling my data for a fractional increase in price. I've explained since I barely use my data doubling it is worthless.
They've told me they have no deals between £9 and £12 at all which is silly. They have said £12 for 12 gb which is reasonable but still up seling and more than I need.
Ideally i'd like to be able to show virgin the vodaphone or Id deals I found on their own websites as they refuse to match third party deals.

Networks all have a web site with prices.
However its your £10 thats the stumbling block for 10GB .Through the actual networks deals that is .0 -

I've found deals i'd like virgin to match but their only through third party website links and can't be reached through navigating the companies own website.
I've already found two deals for 10 pounds offering 8gb and 9gb so it is doable.
8gb for £10 would be fine for me- £10 for 10gb I agree is very unlikely.0 -
Why don't you just go elsewhere? I always do. I also invariably get better deals by going through third paries.0

Just ask for your PAC and see how they react.0

Ask them to match the third party's prices asking for a PAC if they say no.0
