The Mirage no longer includes unlimited beer and wine.

Also, resort fees for 3 MGM hotels are going up from 1 August, Aria, Vdara and Bellagio.

You have to book the comp room within 30 days of buying the reward. You can see the calendar once you buy the reward, but they have been out for ages so availability may have gone for September.

Last year we each had a 2 night room comp at the Vdara and were very lucky to find not only 4 consecutive nights, but they were for the last 4 nights of our stay.

So I can buy the rewards now, and book them straight away for our September visit?

The rewards calendar for where we want to stay only showed up 2 days ago.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Also, resort fees for some MGM hotels are going up from January. I think it's the Aria, Vdara and one other.

That’s definitely us out of doing this buffet ever again.
The standard of the Mirage buffet has been declining, in our opinion, for a number of years. We only really went because it was a cheap 2 for 1 with myvegas reward...and the included alcohol.

No more alcohol, no more buffet. :rotfl:

I reckon a lot of the buffets have been declining.
The Mirage isn't brill for food anyway, apart from that Pizza Place that we couldn't get near last time.
We ended up at that NY deli place across the way. It was terrible (and expensive). We would have been better off with McDonalds.
It seems that the worse it gets, the more expensive it is.
BEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.

+1. Quite a dire offering to be honest

I thought Cravings was garbage years ago when they first started the free beer and wine. We weren't there for the alcohol, but the food wasn't great way back then.

I keep seeing on the Facebook group that was mentioned earlier how "amazing" and "awesome" this buffet is and thought they had maybe improved. However I trust the opinions of the regulars on this thread far more than some newbie opinions.

PS I edited my earlier post with the correct details of the resort fee increases.

Thanks Luci, I’ve just refunded my mirage buffet. I don’t drink but my daughter does so that’s what made it appealing.

Looks like we won’t be staying at The Orleans Hotel anymore for part of any future trips.

They have changed the shuttle drop off yet again.
In the time we have been using their hotel, the drop off has changed from Bills to Bally’s to Caesars to the Link...now from today drop off is at The Fashion Show Mall....too far out for my liking.

Shame as we only started getting comped rooms there a couple of years ago, looks like we will have to stick with MGM properties.

I heard they were making the change today. I think it’s understandable if it’s temporary due to the construction near Linq at the moment. I do hope they change it back, we would not usually want to be in that area very often. Our favourite part of the strip is the four corners by Bally’s, Bellagio, Caesars, Cromwell. Always has been.

On a positive note, it will work for our change from Gold Coast to Wynn in October.
