I see no great benefit to being able to clutter up one's desktop with loads of downloaded photos, saving to Google Pnotos is much better and the photos are also backed up as a result,
When I sent to desktop, it was for easy access to drag to FB now and again. I didn't leave them there. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

How does that statement help the poster with a problem he was having.
Stating that chromebooks are 'silly gimmicks' is a childish statement
Did it make you feel better perhaps?

Whilst I welcome anyone that responds, I know that some replies might raise an eyebrow, but it causes no offence. I endeavour to rise above it. I must say, I am more than pleased with my Acer Chromebook14
Since making the purchase during the Black Friday week of sales, I felt the price of £149, compared with today's £249 was a good save.
To be able to charge it within an hour, then have full use for about 11/12 hrs is something not experienced before. Of course, getting familiar with how they operate, is something I have almost done.
I suppose its really a case of what suits one may not suit another, that why folk have conflictive and interesting posts. Not for one minute would I subscribe to the "mine is better than yours" syndrome.
For the moment, after reading so many reviews from well satisfied users of Chromebooks, that's my chosen path. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Money saving we like. £149 makes a lot more sense.0
