Chromebook problem

Whilst I'm getting used to chromebook, there is one aspect that I can't get my head round.

If I see a photograph, irrespective of where it is and I right lick on it, I'm presented with an option to do various things. I've been using the "save image as" and after doing the "save" bit, I have to try and remember where it has gone.

I miss being able to save to desktop.

I miss not being able to send to google photo's.

I'm frustrated not being able to access it easily.

PS, made a step forward. I see all my photo's are in files. Whereas previously they had been in urls, I now have it so photo's are displayed (thumbnails) > If I click on one of them, that's when it goes to Gallery, (the round red icon showing mountains) and it is there where it can be edited, once done, it returns to Files.

That seems to be OK, but, ideally I want to be able with one click, to send them to google photo's.

    Right Click on photo

    Scroll to bottom

    Save 'Image to Google Drive'

It will then appear in your Google Photos

I am and it does!, thank you so much. I had read that chromebooks require another level of thinking but when you've done that, using them becomes second nature.

The route will be written down now so I don't forget. Thanks again.

You can also download to a memory card/stick .

The option will come up when you right click 'save image as' to SD card

No, it's just a case of the OP finding their feet with a new system, I don't see any great benefits to Wimdows here. I see no great benefit to being able to clutter up one's desktop with loads of downloaded photos, saving to Google Pnotos is much better and the photos are also backed up as a result,

It's not as if you don't have similar options in Windows, as well as the option to store them on the device.

I also like the fact that I can utilise different Browsers at the same time.

Chromebooks are just a silly gimmick.

How does that statement help the poster with a problem he was having.

Stating that chromebooks are 'silly gimmicks' is a childish statement

Did it make you feel better perhaps?
