Hey,
I'm sorry to hear you're struggling a bit. It's perhaps worth trying to achieve a small goal in the meantime which could be something like not buying those extra sweets or snacks that you don't need.
It not only saves you a few bucks but it avoids the unhealthy food too, which has a much larger and more important knock on effect.
Think of the longer term goals, past getting rid of the debt, but when you continue to save money, what do you plan on doing? Use that as the motivation.0 -
Thank you speky, just feels like so far away at the moment and I've only just started :rotfl:[STRIKE][/STRIKE]#16 1 debt 100 days challenge £171.57/£410

Brand new month, new goals {well, same goal...:o }
So, as I've been feeling a bit demotivated, let's look at some positives from last month...Paid £60 off target debt, no where near as much as I wanted to pay... but it's better than nothing and January is usually an expensive month for me. Trying to save now for next January so I don't have this issue next year
:pI reached the end of the month without a failed direct debit!! :T This is actually amazing for meSo long may that continue!
Plans for next month.Already written up my budget for the month... will do my best to stick to it. Apart from half term, this month doesn't have any major spends that I know of.
Stay out of unnecessary shops.
Can't think of much else at the moment so I'll leave it there. Aiming to at least half my target debt this month so need to stay focused.
Good luck to everyone else and have a great month![STRIKE][/STRIKE]#16 1 debt 100 days challenge £171.57/£410

I think you are doing well. Taking lunches to work and keeping out of garages for buying stuff are great challenges. Budgeting and keeping on track with money is like losing weight. Small changes make the difference. Another great one which has always worked for me is no impulse buying.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Hello diary!
Fallen off the wagon a little bit with diary entries..... just getting over a really nasty flu that absolutely floored me
So, update..... paid another £56 off Next account.... that's down to £250 now, slowly but surely.
I had a letter from Moorcroft about paypal account, called them and they are holding the account for a month (hopefully Next is paid off by then)
Still saving all £5 notes for christmas :T
This month I have the dreaded MOT....Saved a little bit for that, but not sure what will happen if it's anything major, so fingers crossed :rotfl:
And that's about it I think.... plodding along... just want to get these interest accruing debts out the way, then I can concentrate on the big ones that are not charging interest!

Hope you're feeling a bit better now and glad to have you back.
At least your motivation to tackle the debt has remained over the last couple of weeks and sounds like you're heading in the right direction.
Do you have a date which you expect to be debt free?0 -
Thank you Speky! Hmmm I haven't really thought about a debt free date..... kind of been trying to break it down into steps. Like the first step I'm aiming for is to pay off the debts that still have interest first[STRIKE][/STRIKE]#16 1 debt 100 days challenge £171.57/£410
