Good luck. I'm on my debt-free journey too and I totally get the frustration with waiting - thankfully hubby gets paid weekly so I can pay small amounts off regularly but it's taking sooooooooo long to get to a. payday each week, and b. to my first milestone of the debt being below £4k. Every time I think I'm making progress something crops up, an additional charge appears and changes the overall total etc....but I know it will (soon) be gone!

How is your 1 debt 100 days challenge going?
Slowly but surely, doesn't look like I will be able to make another payment until next payday.... bit frustrating. But I WILL do it, I WILL be debt free! Have to keep telling myself that :rotfl:[STRIKE][/STRIKE]#16 1 debt 100 days challenge £171.57/£410

Nice to see that you're feeling a bit better about yourself and hopefully things continue in that vein.
And yes I'm feeling alot more positive and trying to keep it that way![STRIKE][/STRIKE]#16 1 debt 100 days challenge £171.57/£410

Good morning!
I was having a good old think yesterday.... and I've always had such a negative attitude towards money, it's always been the enemy. Maybe this has been the problem all these years??
So, I need to change my perspective.... change my attitude towards money and make it a friend and not an enemy lol, make it work for me. I'm hoping this will turn things around.... can't hurt to try
Good luck to everyone else on their journeys to being debt free![STRIKE][/STRIKE]#16 1 debt 100 days challenge £171.57/£410

@babysquirerrel: there's a Latin proverb that says "if you know how to use money, money is your slave; if not, money is your master", or something like that. Sadly we seem to be the slaves...
Good luck to you! (and to all of us) I will be following your diary.

Hey,
Have you heard of You Need A Budget (YNAB)?
It completely changed my attitude to money when I was in debt. I felt there was a cloud following me about and I would think and worry about money all day - literally interrupt my thoughts. YNAB gave me peace of mind to know that my priorities (debt and bills) are being looked after and put me back in control of money, not the other way about.
You get a free trail for 30 days or something, there after it's like £4 a month but to me it's genuinely the reason I got out of debt and ended up managing to save to buy my own property. I recon I'll use it for the rest of my days and so £4 a month isn't much compared to what it done for me.
There's a few threads on here about YNAB and their own website is pretty useful. I'd be more than happy to talk you through it all if you want, just DM me. I've became a bit of an expert haha. Hope this helps0 -
@babysquirrel: you can also try the Spending Tracker app, it's free (with ads). Or you can pay £3 (one off fee) to get rid of the ads and back up data on Dropbox. I use it to track all bills and spending against my monthly budget. Not as smart as YNAB but it does the job and it's free.

The last monday of this loooong month haha.
Well, I had a much needed night out this weekend, having not been "out out" for 3 years  and now I feel SO guilty!! Does that happen to anyone else? When you spend some extra money that could have gone towards debt??
Also disappointed in myself for going to the garage for bits and bobs a couple of times over the past few days (for convenience) I feel so annoyed with myself every time I spend money in there!!
Right, anyway....whats done is done... onwards and upwards:doh:[STRIKE][/STRIKE]#16 1 debt 100 days challenge £171.57/£410
