The most annoying ones are on itv2 and itv3 they are such bright colours they distract me so much from viewing I now don't watch those channels. Kind of counter productive?????Nothing to see here, move along.0

I have Dumped Sky mainly for this screen Logo problem as well as the crap they show. My money my choice"Imagination is more Important than knowledge"0

doesn,t pressing the back up button on the remote (sky) make the logo disappear?0

I contacted Hitachi again given their lame excuse for a reply to my first email. They state " for every hour of use where there is a logo or similar fixed on screen, switch to something else for 15mins"
Okay for Football I guess, but channel 5, your days are numbered for my loyalty I'm afraid. Can anyone explain to me how to put a signature here?

Though for that to be effective you'd also have to write/email to them and tell them what you were doing and why.0 -
Hi
Now that even Channel Five has decided so display a logo in the top left of their TV shows/Films etc, I'm getting worried about my Plasma TV. What's the real deal as far as screen "burn in" is concerned anyone? I don't want to watch a film for 2 hours with the logo on display. Also, concerned about watching football or other channels that constantly display their logos.
Thank you in advance for your advice.
Please use my Poll, could it be a petition maybe?
I very much doubt that a petition asking them to desist will be effective. If you're serious I suggest you re-phrase it as a statement of action:
"Because the logo is so annoying the following people have chosen to stop watching channel X:"-
and then

What?
I didn't realise anybody actually watched five anyway0 -

On my Sky+ box there is a setting that means the red dot goes off after a few seconds. Its under services>picture settings and is called "On Screen Icon Time Out". Not sure if it is just on Sky+ boxes.
It does not work for DOGs though..
As for the plasma burn question.
You need to have a still image on screen for a LONG time. I have yet to see anything on Five (or many other channels) that have managed to make me keep watching for several hours :rolleyes:0 -
I contacted Hitachi (my plasma) about this issue and asked for any advice on screen burn in. How long can logos be on screen etc. On their website it states see FAQ for screen burn in issues, but there was no FAQ on this subject!
A great reply was "All our TV's come with a 12month warranty". Cracking Hitachi, thanks for the advice. :T
Hi - If it helps, I have an Hitachi plasma that is now 4 years old and is used for (too) many hours daily with plenty of logo-infested Sky channels. Never had any sign of screen burn or after-images and I've never used the 'screen clean' function from the menu.
I worried about it being a problem at first and switched channels for a while every hour or so if there were logos, but now I never really think about it and just don't consider it a problem.
Regards
