What age is your grandson? Finding locations is reasonably easy, unless blocked, Social media hmmm of course you could try Cambridge Analytica.

Undervalued I asked a question is not up for discussion we've made our decision. If people don't know the answer that's fine but all I wanted was an answer to my question.
What was the question ? Perhaps ask the social media sites he uses

You don't have to take part in the discussion if you don't want to but you can't prevent it taking place. And perhaps you should take note of it, because it seems to me that your decision has been made on a false premise.

Sorry but you don't get to decide what is "up for discussion" on a public forum!

Sometimes the best advice is that which you least want to hear.

Your daughter is potentially committing a criminal offence is she proceeds down the line you have outlined.

Personally never use any of the above.

Just make sure the app you install interfaces to the apps they use, otherwise it may not work.

Glad you are being a parent, taking interest in your kids future and dealing with potential problems before they happen.

Would you care to provide an English translation of these two lines of gibberish?

I have no problem with that providing the child knows that it is installed and that their social media use is being monitored. A parent can perfectly well make that a condition of supplying a smart phone and paying the bills!

What I strongly object to (as indeed does the law of the land!) is covert monitoring.

Don't throw any money at any of the software solutions mentioned so far.
At best they are of limited use - at worst they do nothing and are a complete rip off ..

Your best bet would be to use the various offerings for phone tracking from apple/google depending on model, and socially engineering or phishing the passwords for social media out of the kids and just log on as them to see whats going on. I guess you could use a keylogger for this..

I do think its a bit naughty though and there are better ways to handle the situation

I know you both mean well but I do wish people would answer the question, we have considered other options and come to the conclusion this is how we want to proceed
    Thank you

I hope you have considered the damage to their relationships and your own if or perhaps when the grandson discovers you've been spying on him and invading his privacy?

I can see a Jeremy Kyle special coming on already.
