  • Ambitous.... Will take a lot of sacrifice and discipline. Not impossible though
  • thanks, yes its been a bit of a nightmare flat wise and have just found out that there is more electrical work required than first thought so that £1000 I have in contingency is going to have to take a bit of a hammering. Just want to get back into my home now tbh so will have to be done asap.

My targets are pretty challenging, I am hoping my work bonus that I get in June will cover at least half of the mortgage overpayment so that makes it a bit easier. :-)

Off into London for work today, will try and go to greggs or boots rather than Pret for lunch, I cant really take my own as I travel around and its a pain to carry along with everything else I have to carry, at least I don't have to pay for my travel to work just lunch.

They will try anything for a bargain, and they hope you are desperate to get it out of the house,
seems like, you don't ask, you don't get and will try a very low offer ,
Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's

  • Well received a bill from the electrician, it was £85 over budget but I did ask for some extra plug socket so was expected, unfortunately there was some other issues with the electrics earth and a couple of other bits, another £230 in total.

Still no bill from the plumber but he is coming back next week so perhaps he wants to lump it all together.

more positively the kitchen installation is coming on and I've just claimed £90 work expenses.

I've bought a load of carpet and lino but cannot find a carpet fitter for love nor money! fingers crossed someone comes up, I've budgeted £300 for the fitting so I am hoping that is ok.

  • I've found a carpet fitter! he is coming to take a look tomorrow morning which is good.

What do you think the target age to be mortgage free is for most people here?
