    My condolences.

I would be very surprised if a man with this level of business interests - especially one with a complex family situation (re-marriage) didn't make a will.

Unfortunately far to many people put making a will off indefinitely, leaving this sort of mess behind them. The OPs father should have made his as soon as he remarried.

I know. My mum refused to make a will because 'it was unlucky'. However, her only asset was the house she shared with my dad. I still think that someone with more compex affairs would have made a will - it wouldn't be the first time that a second wife had 'lost' a will.

Oh yes - I recognise that excuse. Parents eventually made one as had arm twisted by solictor relative - but mother denied knowing what was in it as she hadn't read it , just signed it ...

My father was the only person who worked for his companies.

I went to see the E type today. It was completely dismantled from the chassis and covered in rust. Piled sky high on top of each other. My Dad has some amusing ways about him. Still, it may become a project to try and fix it up one day.
  • The case is definitely intestate. She has said my Dad never left a will.

Was this a limited company, and does it have any major assets?

That is very trusting of you, people have been known to lie about wills.

    What sort of maintenance companies?
  • They are Ltd companies and I don’t think he had any assets other than the tools he had. Which ain’t much. The biggest tool he has is a 110v Bosch jack hammer.
