Do you know if argos still do the one you have? I can't find anything on their website other than standard singles and a handful of cotbed quilts.

Cotbed duvets and quilts tend to be 100x120cm whereas the very few junior duvets I've found are 120x150cm which would be exactly right for the bed I like.
Yep they still do them, they're part of a set (cat no 376-0055). However, I just checked it in the catalogue and it's a 100x120 so not what you're looking for... My little one was in a grobag for ages and this is his first duvet, so I wasn't sure what size they normally are.

I've just checked the catalogue again, and if you've got one, look on p.1521 - the quilt is on the toddler bed! Unfortunately, the pic of the bed on the website is different.

My baby girl hadn't started to climb out of her cot bed, but we thought it best to take the sides off it sooner rather than later.

We had already taken the door off to her room and installed a stairgate, which she has never really tried to open, so her getting out of her room wasn't a problem.

She loves the freedom of being in her bed and can't wait to get a grown up one (she stayed in an adult bed while on holiday and was excellent), I think it is because she has the option of playing when she wakes up rather than just calling us until we get her up!

Admittedly getting her to sleep is a bit more of a problem, but as she can't get out of her room it's not a major problem (she's never been one for sleeping with us), although it does mean sometimes that she doesn't go to sleep until 10pm. She doesn't have any problem getting up in the morning and rarely suffers from tiredness so like I say not a big problem.

I would say for your baby's own safety, move them to a bed as soon as they are able to climb.

  • Hi,
I put daughter straight into a kids bed. For the first couple of nights, stayed with her till she fell asleep, then sneaked off. The first couple of nights were a nightmare, (she kept getting up) but we persevered and put her back to bed. (till 1am on the first night!)
By the end of the week, she would stay in bed on her own and go to sleep. We invested in a little lamp she asks us to turn it on when she goes to bed. Also put a stair gate over the doorway to stop her wandering and falling down the stairs.
    Hope this helps,
    Twinkle
