£150 switch incentive from NatWest (2019)

I agree, there is nothing in the switch T&Cs defining 'use' in relation to the debit card, and no reference to purchase/bill payment.
It wouldn't be the first time bank staff had made up their own version of T&Cs, but why take the risk?
You can always call yourself for a second opinion.0 -

It does though appear strange that NatWest customer services staff can see different Ts & Cs to NatWest customers.0 -
It is unwise to take anything said by NatWest at face value.

Easily resolved - ask in your local branch, if you have one, or call 0800 200 400.0 -

If it comes down to interpretation the legal test is what a reasonable person would think. In my opinion a reasonable person would think that use of a debit card would include ATM withdrawals unless this was specifically excluded in the written Ts & Cs.0 -

The customer services person said I would need to speak to the switching team and he transferred me to them. The switching person listened to my question and had to check with a supervisor.
She came back to me after about 30 seconds and assured me that a cash withdrawal at an ATM would definitely qualify as using the debit card to qualify for the second cash reward.
Nevertheless I am with badger09 on this and am minded not take the risk.
I forgot to ask if scratching my left ear with the card would qualify as using the debit card.

Thank you for your suggestion which I followed by calling 0800 200 400.

As I said earlier;)

I've just rang Nat West switch team - the score is now 2-1 in favour of only needing to use an ATM.
Is there a dramatic late equaliser on the cards ?0 -

Now I see why Ross McEwan is resigning.0 -
Update - I finally received written confirmation yesterday that any use of the debit card will satify the criteria for the second wave payment £50 to complete the £175 reward offer.
My first letter resulted in a full explanation of the reward qualifying T&Cs without addressing the clear and unambigious question posed.
I then had to respond with a follow up letter, again asking the same specific question in isolation.
Talk about hard work !!!
The moral of this saga - don't ask Nat West a potentially difficult question !!!0
