  • make her a hamper. She will appreciate the thought that goes into it. Try TK maxx for nice bits

as an aimost 60 myself, avoid toffees as they pull fragile fillings out. I have cupboards full of perfumes etc. I would say that I would love things that are usable such as a little candle, a lovely small pot of special jam, a few special chocolates, a crossword book, bed socks. Believe me nothing expensive but a nicely presented basket tied with a pretty ribbon. Something like that would get to my heart

I would buy her a scarf from Per Una (Marks and Spencer) (about £15), then maybe some thorntons chocs (go for quality not quantity!!).

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

You say you assume she is about the same age. Have you not met her? If not then don't bother, unless you are seeing her on christmas day or at a gathering where everyone else will be exchanging presents and she would be left out.
  • hi there
ive just been having a similar discussion with my oh about his dads lady friend

we decided to get the sanctury hand treatment box from boots as we have noticed she has nice nails an everyone likes nice pampering type stuff

also its on 2 for 3 so were actually going to get 3 of them the other 2 for his sisters as its not just for a particular age there 15 pounds each so for 30 pound we have done 3 people an we only budgeted for 10 each anyway they have loads of other nice bits on the 3 for 2 for men woman an children

Think this is a fantastic idea! assuming you know what your dad would like to see, and his gf likes being with him, so you can't loosem it'll probably cost more than £20 but if it's a joint gift you could use the joint budget.
Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

I have met her, but I'm really bad at guessing people's ages. She doesn't actually look that old, so she probably looks after herself and would like some nice pampering bits. I like the idea of a scarf from Per Una, because she's probably a very M&S person too.

Although you can get Theatre Tokens - with your piggypoints if you're that way inclined! Then they can choose when they go.

Likewise most cinemas do vouchers if they like going to the cinema.
