Parking charge notice- Christmas day
komalm
Hi, someone has received a parking charge notice from a private parking company for Christmas day. The case was parked in a retailers car park assuming its ok to park there for a few hours, as the retail park was closed anyway. Free time allowed was 3 hours and car was parked for around 4.5 hours. Can this still be handled as per the guidance on the newbie panel?
thanks

I'd be contacting the landowners of the site and asking them for some Yuletide compassion. You'll obviously say that there was no one else in the car park, and as all the businesses were closed, there was no loss to them in terms of you blocking off a parking space. Tell them how much you used the facility for pre-Christmas shopping, spending £xxxxx.00 on gifts for your family and other loved ones in their retail units. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
