    UKPC are fraudsters

    complain to your MP

It is the will of Parliament that these scammers be put out of business.

Hopefully that will take place in the near future. The Bill has passed through the HOC without hitch, and goes to the Lords soon. In the meantime involve your MP, the poor dears are buckling under the weight of complaints about these scammers.

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of alleged contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors. Is has been suggested by an MP that some of these companies may have connections to organised crime.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, (especially Smart}, and others have already been named and shamed in the House of Commons as have Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each week), hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned. They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

The problem has become so widespread that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers.

Sir Greg Knight's Private Members Bill to curb the excesses, and perhaps close down, some of these companies passed its Third Reading in late November, and, with a fair wind, will become Law next year.

All three readings are available to watch on the internet, (some 6-7 hours), and published in Hansard. MPs have an extremely low opinion of the industry. Many are complaining that they are becoming overwhelmed by complaints from members of the public. Add to their burden, complain in the most robust terms about the scammers.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

You guess wrong, if you transcribed that wording exactly...come on, compare it to Schedule 4, that's why I link the Act in the NEWBIES thread, so people can spot the difference and see the NTK is not compliant with 9(2)f (and maybe other sections).

Here is the exact wording they have used.

I've tried to read and get my head around all the information but I have dyslexia so it's not going in as well as it needs too.

    EDIT:

(f)warn the keeper that if, at the end of the period of 28 days beginning with the day after that on which the notice to keeper is given—

(i)the amount of the unpaid parking charges (as specified under paragraph (c) or (d)) has not been paid in full, and

(ii)the creditor does not know both the name of the driver and a current address for service for the driver,

    the creditor will (if all the applicable conditions under this Schedule are met) have the right to recover from the keeper so much of that amount as remains unpaid;

    What am i not seeing?

You are seeing it correctly (it is compliant) but you transcribed it completely differently!

That's standard for UKPC now, but we still beat them and no-one pays them here.

They have taken a pic of their sign which is blurry so you can't make out any of the words in the photo.

I can go and take my own fresh picture of the sign?

When you have your own pics, see which ones supports your case the best. Using their own pic to show their sign is unreadable will help, provided you emphasise that point to the assessor.

"This sign, supplied by UKPC cannot be read, even when magnified on a screen. It is impossible therefore to believe that motorists would be able to read such a thing which so completely and utterly fails to meet the requirements of the BPA CoP.

This is the Beavis sign by comparison …"

Embed the images into your appeal rather than adding links. That way the assessor has to view it.

If you are on a phone, stop. Use a PC/laptop for this forum, and you see the whole thing.

You need to click where my signature below every post I make, tells you.

That's why I use the words below, telling everyone where to click...

I have been away from the country for month. So for the POPLA appeal I paid appealaparkingticket website £25 to appeal for me..

I have been told it was declined. so now UKPC want £100 or debit collector bla bla....

So this is the "ignore all letters stage"? and hope they don't take me to court.

You did WHAT now?! Just because they have a pic of a UKPC ticket cancelled on their webpage? We get thousands of them cancelled, free and gratis, year in year out.

    Oh dear.

Promise us, when UKPC sue you, using SCS Law, that you will NOT think for one nano second about using a useless (and very often aggressive, but I think luckily not THAT company) 'appeals firm'.

Waste of money. TWENTY FIVE QUID for a losing POPLA appeal when you could have won with one from here?

Wait to see if the scammers try court. They often do. Read post 2 of the NEWBIES and come back to this thread if that happens.

What on earth did the appeals company put in your appeal that caused it to fail? We need to know if we stand any chance of helping you.

What happened when you complained to your MP about this unregulated scam?
