You cannot use Three UK or MVNOs that run on their network.

Choose from any of the others that have a suitable tariff for your usage needs, and which have good enough coverage in your areas.

As far as I am aware Giff Gaff are the only supplier, still supporting 2G !!
I too have an old 2G phone (a Nokia 9000 communicator) and had problems finding a supplier who could support 2G !!

Giff Gaff piggyback off the O2 network so, presumably, O2 and any other provider that uses their network would support 2G.

I use Asda, piggy backs on EE on my 2G PAYG, no problems at all
I also have double SIM which is O2, in same phone, also no problems at all

So, that's O2 & EE working fine on 2G for me, and I assume everyone else

Brilliant Thanks for sorting that. To answer grumbler, its actually for my 85 year old Mum who doesn't use internet but can talk the hind legs off a donkey night or day. I found that Sky have £6 month all she can eat minutes that works on 2G, sim ordered Thanks for everyone contribution

For anyone else shopping I found this particular list useful

    Couple of caveats perhaps.

You have to retain Sky TV to get that offer otherwise they'll add £10 a month to it.

The second point to consider is whether her phone is sim locked as Sky use the O2 network, for an EE alternative Plusnet have a 1.5GB, UL minutes and texts deal for the next 9 days or so.
  • This months offer means you do not have to be a sky subscriber to get the unlimited minutes, and the tariff continues beyonf the 12th months too.

The only UK networks not to support 2G is Three, and the various virtual networks who use Three's signal.

O2, Vodafone and EE (and any virtual network who piggyback on these networks) will work fine with a 2G only phone.

Cheers, didn't know about this. 2GB data and UL minutes & texts for £6 a month's not bad at all. Minimum 12 month contract with no TV contract required.
