  • Regardless of the O2 T&Cs, Three have the same “321” PAYG prices and only require a chargeable call once every 6 months. I use a Three PAYG SIM in a remote alarm unit. I haven’t topped up in a long time and only make a test call every month or two.

Note, Three SIMs need a 3G (or 4G) phone.

Haven't checked 3, but it seems to me that O2 could implement the T&C's relating to the Classic PAYG that would supersede the mobile T&C's, (these being general), as they are specific to the Classic PAYG.

    If you look here

it would appear that the website is incorrect.

Well that is no different to something being posted on MSE, (or any forum), and only being an opinion, i.e no confirmation.

The official O2 website has to be the Oracle and that states what I posted in my post #11, also the website makes no mention of this mystical 999 days to top up to keep the sim active.

Despite the first reply in your link saying, " We have had this confirmed by O2." the O2 website has had 3 weeks to rectify their T&C's but appear to have chosen not to. Wonder why that is?

I have just spoken at great length to O2 Customer Services and the terms in a nutshell for Classic PAYG are as my post #10:

"O2 Classic PAYG: "Classic Pay As You Go When you join Classic Pay As You Go, you pay for what you use, as you go. The minimum top up requirement is £10.
If you don't top up, or add a Bolt On at least once in any six month period, your mobile will be disconnected and you'll lose any credit on your account. If you want to be reconnected you'll be given a new mobile number."

I have not used the sim as of receipt, (07-01-19), with the exception of placing it into my phone and somewhere along the line they debited 20p, even they cannot find what that 20p was for.

I have requested they refund my £10.00 under CRA as I have been misled via their website T&C's and the O2 Community via the link in post #14.

This is to be returned via a cheque within the next 14 working days, ergo 3 weeks, funny how they can debit immediately but require 3 weeks to refund.
