Argos Internal Investigation Problem?

I had an Ebay Click and Collect order delivered to a local Argos store but when i arrived to collect it i was told it had already been collected.
As i had not collected this i knew something was wrong so i told Ebay, and they were told by Argos that a member of Argos staff has signed for the item and took it himself but as he no longer works there they are very sorry. When i asked if i could see my forged signature they suddenly told me that a mistake had been made and the item was lost and never arrived at the store in the first place, the Ebay seller had however been sent a message from their courier that Argos had received the item and signed for it. When i confronted Argos with this Information they told me that they will conduct a new investigation but due to confidentiality laws i would not be allowed to hear the findings so they are sorry for the inconvenience caused but good bye.
I am not happy with this and the Ebay seller blames me claiming they were not given a refund regardless of having proof of the delivery as they only refunded me.
I feel bad for the seller because they have lost out but i am being blocked out of knowing anything by Argos. I don't know if i have a legal position on this my main concern is that my signature was forged i need to know who did this, really angry!

Incidentally, Argos don't take a signature when you collect eBay items. They take your collection code and ask your name (sometimes asking for ID).
The seller should pursue Argos for the loss.0 -
The clue is in the thread title, it's an internal investigation at Argos.0

I have had this comparison made before and there is no connection between me and that other user.Time Is The Enemy!0 -

Maybe you are conducting your own internal investigation, if you don't have any advice to give, why bother?Time Is The Enemy!0 -
Aside from the dual identity debate, you haven't answered the question in post#2. Why do you need to know who supposedly forged your signature?0

I'm very familiar with the Argos ebay collection and can tell you entire process
1. Courier comes with a consignment of parcels which may or may not need to be signed for.
2. When they arrive they have to be booked in manually one by one by the colleague on the ebay app using the ECP number on the parcel and then put away into a specific location.
3. When booked in this will generate an FM/ code which you will receive.
4. You give that code to the colleague which will tell them where the parcel is and they will proceed to put in the ECP number on the parcel to update the status to collected.
A few things can go wrong with the entire process:
1. The seller doesn't put an ECP number on the parcel so it cannot be booked in. The ECP can be found by name on the system, but if there are numerous parcels under the same name it will 100% just get dumped into a pile until the buyer comes in to enquire.
2. The colleague might sign for a consignment of 5 items but the courier only gives 4 of those items which the colleague has no way of knowing.
I had a situation where a customer came to collect a car bumper (easy to spot) and proceeded to accuse us of theft because it was signed for.
After it was investigated it was found that the person who apparently signed for it wasn't even in that day and that the courier just forged it. It turned up the following day via the courier so it was left on the van.
3. It could have been misplaced of left lying around after being signed for.
I've had times where Sainsbury's have signed for ebay parcels at the back door and haven't either given them to us or have taken them up to their offices believing it to be something for them.
Now in your situation:
1. If it shows as 'in-store' on their systems and it isn't there, then it may have been either have just been given out or worse, stolen by a colleague.
2. If it shows as 'collected' then that means the person who they gave it to either had the FM/ code (which is only sent to the buyer) or if they didn't, would require the colleague to ring ebay and have you confirm your security details before they give the colleague the FM/ code.0
