Hi Trix and all. I've been AWOL for a while but quietly continuing to make overpayments behind the scenes. For some reason i can't get the form to work for me so can I put my rather belated October update here instead? This challenge has felt like it has gone by in a flash as much as its felt long and drawn out and far more than 3 years. Thanks to @julicorn for taking it on going forwards, hopefully once shes got the 2023 annual challengers set up she will start looking at the T6 thread- Mortgage: 1st one down, 2nd also busted

Morning all, and Happy New Year!
Congratulations to those who have paid off their mortgages in this challenge!
I thought I'd made an update here but can't find it so... we are mortgage free as at the end of Sept 2021! (form submitted today)
I feel like we cheatedas we cleared it through an inheritance and redundancy payment but the end result is still the same, it took 10 years and 3 challenges to clear £166k.
I've been able to give up work for a while too which was my ultimate goal as it was no good for my mental health, now for working out what to do going forward
Good luck to everyone going into the next T-6 challenge.Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.7 -
Congrats Shala_moo. Definitely not cheating I did the same, the peace of mind and relief is extremely satisfying as got enough other stuff for the brain to battle with.
Wow we have lots of eager beavers submitting final chart figures already!!- Mortgage: 1st one down, 2nd also busted
