Either replace them, ot adjust price accordingly. As I buyer I would expect the cost of the windows to be deducted, not less than the cost as another poster suggested.0

I would do this. A properly maintained property is attractive to buyers. If you have obvious issues with windows then some buyers will assume that there are other items that need replacing / maintaining. Also - if the property continues to suffer condensation for another year, you might end up having other issues / smells / dampness which will cost more and be more difficult to fix.0

No, I expect what I pay for. If the windows need replacing, then they are worthless.
Persnally I would rather buy a house with them as they are so I get to choose what replacements are made rather than the seller just going with the cheapest quote.
When you buy a non-new house you cannot expect everything to be perfect like when you buy a brand new one.0 -
Used and in good condition is fine with me.
30 years is old for double glazing. That needs to be factored into the asking price.
To make your home stand out and increase the chances of a quick sale, it may be better to replace the windows. Some people get put off by work needed to be done, and may falsely assume other things in the property need work.0 -
If I saw a house that needed new anything (and I mean needed, ie, windows had to be replaced, floorboards were rotten etc) I would take this off the offer price. You can't sell a house with windows if you can't keep the windows. Sellers never ever compensate for this type of thing. How often do you see "sale price adjusted because of crappy windows" in the details?0

True, but I'd rather look at a property with a lower price and some repair needs, then I can do the repairs myself to my standard, rather than buy something that's been tarted up on the cheap.
In this case however, getting the misted units changed and the hinges adjusted (and a polish with PVC Window Cleaner) is sensible maintenance rather than tarting-up.
Misted or stuck windows are likely to be picked up on a survey, and if they mean the property isn't wind- and water-tight may even affect the mortgageability.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0
