Lloyds bank say they can't add first name to letters

2 people in the same house have the same initials and last name. This means any statements or letters all look the same and its impossible to tell which letter is for who.
I called lloyds bank to explain this and that its causing privacy issues, They said the are unable to update the system to use your full name over initials on letters, I am not sure weather the person on the phone just didn't know how to do this or if this is indeed true? Have anybody else ever come across this situation before?

It's quite possible the software allows only <family name> and initials. If this is the case, doubt they'll re-write the software for you. Someone could switch their account to another bank though . . ?0

I've seen posts about this on this forum before - might need some searching...
If Lloyds are really that stupid then I suggest one of two makes one of the following changes (as appropriate):
One person changes their title from "Mrs" to "Ms" (or vice versa)
One person changes their title from "Miss" to "Ms" (or vice versa)
One person requests that the bank remove the prefix "Mr" and replace it with the suffix "Esq".
One person requests that the bank removes the Mr/Mrs/Ms/Miss/whatever completely.
One or other or both turn off paper statements.
One or other ends their relationship with Lloyds
Both of them end their relationship with Lloyds and switch to different banks.
If you feel that the bank isn't taking the matter seriously, the next time someone opens a letter intended for the other, each person should raise separate written official complaint - usual template:
Paragraph 1: "You are doing X"
Paragraph 2: "This means that Y is happening to us"
Paragraph 3: "We want you to do Z"
Each of complaint should be sent on the same day in separate envelopes, bearing in mind that one complaint is "You sent me information on someone elses account" and the other one is "You sent information on my account to someone else".

My Lloyds credit card statement has full first name, middle initial and surname, so someone is telling you porkies.0

If there's an issue over which letter is for whom, I would immediately take my account(s) elsewhere (using a switch service where appropriate). This is order to avoid potentially much larger mix-ups and disputes in the future.0

I doubt it; far more likely that current accounts and credit card accounts are run on different systems with different naming criteria. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
Based on extensive experience on this I can confirm Lloyds are incredibly incompetent when it comes to name changes/corrections and as there can be multiple sources (e.g. credit card vs current account use different databases) and output formats (e.g. statement vs communication) you will struggle to easily reach a satisfactory outcome. I suggest the person with lesser ties to Lloyds leaves it as the cleanest solution.0

I've had a similar problem with insurance certificates with Direct Line. I added my daughter and son-in-law to my policy as temporary drivers - but for different periods of time. Two separate certs were issued, but as they both have the same initial and surname it would be easy to get confused about which cert applies to which person. When I raised it with Direct Line they just said that's the way they do it, but they have the full names on file. I really can't understand why they don't put the full name - unless they're trying to save ink??No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0
