NELSKI I've always fancied going to Morocco!! Did you go on your own? If so was it ok to wander about as a single woman ?: We need to know all about it

I went with a friend candy but it was perfectly fine to wander out alone no hassle at all and miles of prom and beach to enjoy. Would happily go as a single traveller as long as the hotel is a safe one of course. Its a beautiful country and really worth a visit
Am researching tagines now as I would happily live off them. Recipes appreciated. :A I am a bit behind you all with seasonal left over eating but tonight I will be having the very odd combination of scallop mornay, melba toast, breaded prawns with chilli sauce, mince pies and some obligatory pringles cheese and biscuits :rotfl:
Bit of a bits and bobs day so far feel a bit cba but saying that 2 new courses booked.
Sorry TA cant help with sleep I swing between hardly any to coma. Agree with all saying some counselling may help though... talking to a stranger instead of someone you are soo close to may help your brain be able to offload on the unfairness of it all.
Hugs to all as usual0 -
Afternoon all
A bit late posting today but we have been trying to spend our Xmas money
. We visited a small out of town shopping centre and I bought 2 T.shirts in M & S for the princely sum of £3.25 for the 2 :j. Unfortunately they are closing the outlet shop in 2 weeks, but good for me as everything was 50% off. TBH I would have bought more stuff but there wasn't much in my size. (Plenty in 8's or 22's though
) Mr Fix It also wanted some new walking boots, the heel has collapsed in his old ones, but he was out of luck, so he still has his money in tact. We stopped for coffee and found a wallet on the seat which I handed in and I hope the owner gets it back ( there was no ID in there, only bank cards )
On the way home we called in Tes*o for milk, bread, fresh f & v and we were accosted by 2 different strangers. I think it was " nutters day out " day, so we fitted right in :rotfl:. I think I must have one of those " open " faces, where strangers want to tell me their life stories .
Tea tonight will be the leftover beef in gravy with probably chips and veg. There is also some Xmas pudding and cream to use up too. Easy today :T.
Holly I hope everything has gone well today. Sending you lots of healing vibes.
Nelski I'm glad you're back safe and sound and that you had a great holiday. :A
Speky I'm pleased that you had a good time with your family.
Taff I hope today goes well for you.
dp1 my DGS wanted to make an appearance at 29 weeks, but the hospital gave DD some drugs to help his lungs ( just in case ) and then he held on till about 37 weeks. He's now a strapping 9 yr old. My fingers are crossed for your DD.
Anyone heard from Hester or OllieB or Poppy lately?
I shall send out the Sandman with a soft hammer tonight to the sleepless.
Many hugs are winging their way to anyone who is in need or just wants one to help them through the rest of the day.
Take care all

Afternoon folks and thanks for the hints 'n tips re insomnia. I am like AOD, I can get to sleep no problem, I just can't stay asleep. My inbuilt alarm goes off about 3.00 a.m. and then my mind starts working overtime and that's me wide awake. Too much on my mind and everything feels worse in the early hours.
It has been mayhem here with plans going haywire. There is a bug going round the Sunbeams and every day one or another has succumbed to it. Frantic SOS this morning could middle DGD stand in for a poorly this afternoon in the other team. Eldest DGD had to dash down home for all her stuff whilst I started hair plaiting, making her lunch and packing some tea up for her in readiness for an 11.45 pickup.
Youngest DGD was then excused her evening performance as a swing from this afternoon could stand in. So she is still here as DD is chaperoning tonight. Eldest also still here waiting for her lift to diving. And on paper it was all so simple and I should have been childfree by 3.30!!
Welcome back NELSKI and SPEKY. I hope all has gone well for our HOLLY and TAFF gets hopeful news at her appointment. So many worries on here just now. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Hi everyone and thanks for good wishes regarding youngest DD. She is fine but really tired because of the tablets she is on to try to keep her blood pressure down. It was good to see her and I'm pleased she's safe in hospital. I took her requested cheese and pickle sandwich, chilli doritos, fizzy haribo and raspberry Lucozade!
Nannyw - she has had 2 injections of steroids to help baby's lungs mature.
I've booked my seat in the taxi for Saturday, Monday and Wednesday.....hopefully she won't have been moved further away. The journey passed quite quickly in the company of a lady visiting her husband.
I'm off to have a nice hot bath and get my pyjamas on0 -
TA - such chaos! At least it'll be over soon, well done for coping with it all.
My landline and BT broadband are down. There was an Outreach engineer working outside for most of the afternoon and after he left I noticed the problem. Luckily I have a second router (4GEE) which I'm moved over to although some gadgets in the house are not linked to it.
My lovely neighbour called in after his day cutting down trees, as he was my first foot he was pressed into a dram and natter. I really enjoyed it. He'll add some fresh logs to my big barn so they can season, not for this year or even next. I've got plenty for this year.
Funnily enough I encountered his wife and child earlier as they were out on a bike ride past my place as I stepped out for more logs. I love idle chats but don't like small talk.
Same neighbour (well, he's four miles away up the big hill) is making me some chopping boards which I will give as presents. The first one is from oak and looks like a comma, a number six or a sperm whale - take your pick. Someone else burns in a branding of the family crest so they are all unique. For all the downsides of living 'in a field' there are so many more upsides.
Banking is done and some other online work also completed. DM reports that all is well with her so I can relax, almost!
Dram for neighbour = glass of wine for me. :rotfl: Any excuse!
