Orange nano offer / upgrade query

Hi

I have just under three months left on my Orange contract (12 month, £35 a month line rental w/200mins+1000txts, average monthly bill £60). I want to upgrade to the Dolphin £35 plan, with the SE K850i. The phone's free to new customers, with free iPod nano at the mo, but for me to upgrade it's £49, without the nano offer.

I've been quoted £70 to cancel my contract for the remaining three months.

What about Orange's promise to treat existing customers well, and offer existing customers the same deals as new customers?

Any help please - is there a way to get this cheaper??

Thanks.

im in the same boat, but my phone is £90.

However if you start a brand new contract, the phone is free.

So much for loyalty, i have wrote to Orange Cus Services to complain about loyalty and saying i am going to be cancelling my contract and moving to another service provider.

Will update when i hear back

    They're a lousy provider!

I cancelled and signed up again - might as well pay £20 more for a iPod nano as well.

But they should be reported to ASA for advertising that they offer the same promos to existing customers (I don't know if they still advertise that, but it's a lie!).

And to make things worse, my phone wasn't delivered today (as it was meant to be, between 9:30 - 5:30)...

@lgardner: Let us know if they reply!

I want to upgrade to the Dolphin £35 plan, with the SE K850i. The phone's free to new customers you sure? last time i looked (monday) it would have only been free on at least £45 i know cos upgrade min cost is £29.99, with free iPod nano at the mo, but for me to upgrade it's £49, without the nano offer. you happen to know your upg banding? it sounds like band 4 in which case you would be able to get the nano (stocks were very low when i saw though, thought it was just a weekend offer) for free as long as it was an 18m upgrade

I've been quoted £70 to cancel my contract for the remaining three months.

Any help please - is there a way to get this cheaper?? orange offer a buyback credit upto £150 (cant remember if k850i is a £150 phone or a £100 phone,) if its a £150 credit phone get the credit, £50 would go towards your upg cost and the rest towards a nano

    Thanks.

it will be because your a low spend customer, the most you could do as extra is a buyback credit as mentioned above
forgot to mention if you go direct the credit can be as much as £180
usually best deal is to be got through retentions

out of bands 1-5 for upgrade sounds like your a band 1/2 which is judged by your monthly spend amongst other things i believe that will be why there is still an early upgrade charge and high cost for the phone, you should be able to get upto £50 cashback (if you go in store at least)

    The Orange nightmare continues.

They promised delivery on Thursday, no show. And again on Friday, nope.

Now it's going to be next week (Tuesday at the earliest)... and all this time somebody's got to be waiting in to receive it.

What a lousy, inefficient, rude way to treat customers.

Oh, and I can't cancel until i've received the parcel - what's that all about?
  • Orange upgrade operate using a rating system 1-5. The higher you are the more likely you are to get what you want. I personally am a level 4 (avg £45 a month) and I was able to upgrade two months early with no charge and also get the ipod nano for free.

The more you spend the more it pays off, then again it is really unfair for those to dont spend a lot.

CM86:- Try complaining about this to CS, I had the same situation a long time ago and they upgraded me to an orange premier customer (which comes with free insurance worth £6pm) and I have had a perfect experience with orange CS ever since!

I easily spend £45 a month or more, in fact my bills are never less than £50... and they said I couldn't get the free nano (it's for new customers only)..

    They're lousy... and now i'm stuck with a handset I don't like.

    Grr!
