Hi
I am moving to new house within few weeks.
Spoken with few provides today, Vodafone, Sky saying they can't provide service as ultrafast fiber installed in this house with last tenant.
Is any way downgrade and have lower service?
Ultrafast Fibre is very expensive and only provider is BT and I don't need very fast internet.
Spoken with BT. they said this is only package they have in this house.
Many Thanks.

Do you have a copper wire landline going into the house?0

It is fiber no copper. New house. Built 2 years ago0

It looks like you are stuck paying an arm and a leg at the moment. Sky are slowly rolling out fibre which may bring prices down.0

Thanks For your reply.
I always tried to stay away from BT but I think I have no choice this time.0 -

List of some of the suppliers who use the BT Openreach FTTP network can be found at https://www.homeandbusiness.openreach.co.uk/fibre-broadband/ultrafast-broadband/ultrafast-fibre-buy-it-now
Missing from that list are https://www.idnet.com/data_products/super-fast-broadband.php and https://freeola.com/ultrafast-broadband/0 -

That's presuming they service the OP's area of course.0 -
From memory, one of that list is regional only.
Of course, the OP will have to call/email them to ensure that the company (and prices) are a fit for them. Some the companies are business orientated and cost more than BT.
Openreach FTTP is still in its infancy but as the installs roll out, prices will come down especially when more ISPs come on board and the competitive FTTP networks actually build some meaningful infrastructure.
All the FTTP competition to date is mainly hot air excluding Virgin media. (the total number of non Openreach FTTP installs isn't that large, but they all have big plans. Let's see if they follow through)0
