Apart from what is in store and in the freezers I'm just picking leeks, carrots and potatoes. I should have enough to last well into the new year.0

I,ve been leaving mine in to dig up as I need them but the ground has been so wet in recent weeks that I'm thinking I might be better digging them up unless we now have a decent period of dry weather, to prevent them rotting.
If you have a freezer they can of course be cut into chunks raw and frozen or they will keep for a week or more in a fridge salad compartment.0 -

Parsnips need a good frost before they taste right. They will be fine in the ground for a while yet. Just dig as you use them.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I saved £14,660.97 of £6000 or 244.35% of my target. The 2026 Save £12k in 2026 thread is here

Any decent gardening presents for Christmas? I had a heated propagator, some root trainers and Charles Dowding's diary. All set for a first growing season on my new allotment!0

Nearly - as in I need to order it - the aggregate and services for my new greenhouse that we ran out of time to erect in time for Christmas are my Christmas present. Didn't really do presents this year, so nothing gardening specific (unless brandy counts). Good luck with the new allotment.silverwhistle wrote: »Any decent gardening presents for Christmas?
