With the courgettes, you get eaf mildew when the plant is thristy [seems counterintuitive doesn't it?] and also brown splotchy crispy bits on a plant usually tells you they needs water.
Are the courgettes in the ground or a pot? They do better in the ground, and they do like a good amount of feed...
One is in a pot (attached to a self watering system). The other is in the trug. The trug one is fairing worse, but I have been watering it every morning and evening. And they both got deluged on friday with all the rain lol.
But the new flowers aren't even opening or growing bigger than a couple centimetres, before they turn yellow and abort. Both male and female. They're behaving like they are diseased, but I dont know what with.
They've also both had a regular feed, so I'm stumped lolFebruary wins: Theatre tickets0 -

Courgettes are quite shallow rooted plants but the roots do like to spread. It may be that being in containers where the roots are restricted doesn't really suit them.
Also any heat on the side of the containers may not have suited the roots. I suffered this problem when I tried to grow potatoes in growing sacks. They had plenty of water but I think the growing compost just got too hot for the roots.0 -

Yes, also a possibility. Sigh. Might just abandon them for this year, and try again next year. See what happens then with lessons learned.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Could you try moving the containers to a shadier part of the garden? The plants might recover.0

I've got three courgettes in a grow bag with a set of makeshift growpots (supermarket mushroom trays with the bottom cut out), and another three in individual pots, maybe 5 litre ones - at the moment the growbag set up is only slightly more prolific
Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?0
