Old Audi Q7 or a (relatively) new Kia Sorento?

Thank for the replies allThe Q7 will cost an absolute fortune to run, as said it's a 10 year old £55k car. Fuel, servicing, tyres insurance are all likely to be a lot more than you'd assume.
With 2 kids you really don't need anything that big. £7k will get you a lot of Mondeo estate which will take all the stuff you need, or a Zafira if you want the option to go to 7 seats. If you need the height then something like a CRV or X-trail would do the job pretty well.
How often do you reckon you'll need more than 5 seats? Could be a lot cheaper to hire, take 2 cars or use a taxi.
Thank for the reply and you're right. As mentioned in my OP, chances are we will just get by with the Fiesta (or maybe trade it in). Since we have had the child, there are probably been 3-4 occasions I can remember where seven seats would have been ideal so don't think I'll bother with seven. We get on fine with the Fiesta and child because but an issue that will happen is taking the children out to shopping with the pram(s) and bags. Will need something with decent boot space and ideally an SUV (I'm quite tall) as they are easier to get in and out off.
On a separate note, has anyone noticed how a lot of "big" cars are big for little reason? I remember 5-6 years ago I got into a Ford Kuga and felt squished. I also recently sat in a Kia Sorento and struggled for head space mainly because of the sunroof. Then you had the Ford Edge, absolutely massive car, but had less head room than my Fiesta (somehow) and no 7 seats despite being such a big car.0 -
When things need fixing (and they will) the bills will be extortionate. On a Fiesta disks and pads are probably £50, on the Audi they will be £110, fitting them on the Ford will be reasonable, not so much on the Audi. When electronic gizmo's go haywire its going to be really expensive.
Get a 3 yr old estate car in good condition that won't break the bank or make you look like a drug dealer.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0 -
much much cheaper to buy something like a focus estate and fit a roof box to it a neighbor has a 07 focus hatchnback with a roof box on it all the time due to carrying a wheel chair in the boot as her son has a disability so any shopping goes in the roof box (once a week) and the wheelchair lives in the boot as it easy to take it out from there
try that its much cheaper that buying a q7 or similar“People are caught up in an egotistic artificial rat race to display a false image to society. We want the biggest house, fanciest car, and we don't mind paying the sky high mortgage to put up that show. We sacrifice our biggest assets our health and time, We feel happy when we see people look up to us and see how successful we are”
