Hi
I have sent the appeal from the newbie thread to stop the clock on my athena/lidl parking charge they have now responded with this:
Your email address does not match the name used in your email and we can accept no further correspondence from you without correct validation of your identity as the registered keeper of the vehicle. We can only correspond with the registered keeper of the vehicle or a properly validated driver of the vehicle at the time of the event.
In order for us to process your requests and respond, we will require signatory proof that you are the registered keeper of this vehicle
We can accept this in a form of a copy or photograph of a driving license or passport.
I have also sent a complaint to the ceo trying to get the ticket cancelled as advised in this forum the email address i sent it to was christian.haertnagel@lidl.co.uk email was sent on 30th December i am yet to receive a response
What are my next steps i do not feel as if i should be asked to send such personal information via email, where do i stand in regards to this matter
Tia

YES, Athena have a right under data protection for confirmation of who you are
They are not entitled to data such as a passport or drivers licence.
So, a copy of your car registration document (COPY) which confirms the info they have from the DVLA
That is all that is required
Do not be scammed into providing data that is personal and private0 -
I thought it was quite strange myself
When you say car registration do you mean the logbook/v5c if so which section should i send a copy of also will they keep hasseling me for information i do not wish to provide0 -
V5C is the "logbook" and probably has your VRM, your name and your address on it
so you take a pic or scan it and send it in, telling them to destroy it as soon as they have proven who you are and that you are the correct person under the GDPR
you could also include a copy of their NTK too, as further proof
perhaps you should create a new gmail email address in your own name and do it all again, using this new address just for this purpose0 -

Front page of V5.
This proves who you are as per DVLA info they have
Harassing you for more info would be a danger point for them as you will report them to the ICO and the DVLA0 -
@redx what is NTK and also what does GDPR stand for
I thought maybe i could just change my name in my email so when a email is sent it will apear in the same name surely they cant be pulling everyone up on different email address names0 -

NTK notice to keeper
Have you not read the NEWBIES thread ?0 -
acronyms are in the NEWBIES THREAD that you said you have read , see post #5
if there is any hint of duplicity or anonymity they must follow the GDPR and refuse to speak with you, as you could be anybody, they are wuite correct in that they can only deal with the people they said, once proof has been made
so if you used an email that wasnt in your name, its an instant red flag, hence their rebuttal0 -
I have read the newbie post numerous times it does not mention qdpr although it does mention ntk nevertheless
I shall reply with a copy of the front of v5c and also front page of ntk confirming i am the registered keeper and i willl request that they are both destroyed upon arrival
Any ideas on a timeframe for a reply from the ceo also should i forward my complaint to the customer service email
Thanks0 -
it does mention the GDPR, LOOK AGAIN , there are several mentions of SAR and one includes the relevance of the GDPR , which is why you do the SAR as its the law that allows it. you were probably bombarded about the GDPR last april, before it started
yes complain to the CEO and customer service, make a fuss
they may not reply, and no timeframe, but you should do this anyway, regardless0 -
@OP - why don't simply complain to the Lidl CEO - Christian Haertnagel - and get this cancelled. Check other threads using his name as your keyword, to my knowledge there has never been a case where a complaint to him has failed. Saves all the faffing about.
HOW TO USE THE FORUM SEARCH FUNCTION:
Hit your 'Back' button to get back to the forum thread list. On the bar just above the threads you'll see the 'Search' function. Click on the 'Advanced Search' button and on the following page place your keyword(s) in the 'Search By Keyword(s)' and make sure the 'Show Results As' button (at the foot of the window) is changed from 'Threads' to 'Posts'.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
