It's been a quiet week here really. Work has been in full force for us, with the usual daily grind. The boys went to a Dad's group yesterday which was £4 and aside from that it's been a cheap weekend thus far.

I'm ill so it's unlikely we'll be going anywhere. So should save us a few bob.

As of April my current outstanding debt is as follows:
Repayment of maternity leave - was 503.26 / now 314.44
    Credit Card - was 598.74 / now 421.53
    Tax Credits OP - was 480 / now 360
    Loan - was 1,627 / now 1,249
    Current total debt January 2019 = 3,209 / March 2019 = 2,344.97

73.1 % of original debt remains.

Getting there. Although I had to fork out for a rotary dryer and an ink cartridge for the printer this week, which I wasn't intending to get. But we have nowhere to dry clothes other than the tumble dryer atm, so long term investment to save money.

Friday, 12th - [STRIKE]Toddler group coffee morning - £3, Lunch out and Food shopping - £13 for lunch[/STRIKE] DS2 has tonsillitis and has been quite ill so we stayed home. Saved £16 by not going out. £0
Sat, 13th - Solo food shopping (no lunch to pay for) - kids in garden. - £5 (bought a movie for tomorrow)
Sun, 14th - Movie and home play day - £0
    Mon, 15th - Soft Play - £11.50 + £3 drinks = £14.50
    Tues, 16th - Dentist - Free. Bought magazines £7.98
Weds, 17th - Stayed at home (baking and movies) - £0
Thurs, 18th - Hairdressers £14, Soft play £0, Lunch £10.75, Feet measured (both boys needed new shoes but I'm not counting that in holiday spends) = £24.75
Fri, 19th - Off the cuff day trip to York Railway Museum (first family day since Christmas) - Family train ride £10, Drinks £15.40, Ice Cream £9.60, Car park/Entrance Donation £10 = £45
    Sat, 20th - Easter Baking £2
Sun, 21st - Easter Egg hunt and play in the garden - £0
Mon, 22nd - Egg rolling on the park - Free

    Total - Running total £99.23

I found that in the last holidays not planning and doing very much is better for the boys. So I'm keeping it fairly home based with minimal trips out.

Wonder if I can cover the whole week for less that £50. I'd be happy with less than £100, but £50 would be epic!

Feel a bit naughty that we blew £45 on a day out yesterday, but it was our first family day out (with DH) since December. So we thought we'd go for it.

We packed a picnic and ate half on the way there (although we did stop for a drink after getting stuck in traffic) and then we ate the rest in the garden when we got home. It was lovely. Really worth it and super important for the boys to bond with their dad.

That said, little has been asking to go back since he woke up this morning! :rotfl:

My utility bills have dropped dramatically due to lighter nights, heating on less and my rotary dryer. Happy days! :j

We had two cars from when we lived elsewhere and public transport wasn’t great. But we don’t really need the second now. Took it to a friends garage who recommended we scrap it. So he’s done that and has some money for us. I also cancelled the insurance yesterday which gave me £70 back.

So can’t grumble at that. Plus this weekend should be quite cheap. Hubby is finally erecting the trampoline for big in the hope that it will encourage him outside. Little needs no encouragement.

So we’ve just come back from a few days away. We were not frugal. Breakfast was included in the hotel stay. So we loaded up with pastries in napkins to have for lunch whilst we were there. That stopped us buying lunch, then we just had tea out in the evening.

We spoilt the kids a bit and just had some quality family time. It was really lovely. But now to get back to being a bit more frugal and watching what we spend.

So we moved house in November from rented into one we have bought. I cancelled the home insurance on the old house. Imagine my surprise today when I got an email re: the auto renewal on that policy only to realise that despite calling to cancel it hasn't been cancelled.

So I've just sent a bit of a disgruntled email about the situation - I'm not risking calling again. I guess I'm partly at fault for not checking that the refund from the remainder of the policy had hit my account. But we had a lot going on at the time and with 2 children with additional needs moving house wasn't straight forward. I guess that one slipped by me. :(
