Good morning all ( just )
The sun is shining again ! Woo Hoo :j two days on the trot.......... it's a miracle :D. We seem to have had a heavy frost but I have no intention of going out today, except to bring the bins/recycling boxes and bags back in. I have all the windows open upstairs though, letting in some fresh air, it's quite crisp !
In fact today I'm having a day off for the Queen and recharging the batteries. I shall do nothing more taxing than filling the DW and pushing the button to start it :rotfl:.
I am stuck on the sofa watching cheesy Xmas movies and recorded TV. Mr Fix It is already inspecting the inside of his eyes as we both had a disturbed nights sleep ( nightmares .). Awoke at 1am and tossed and turned till 3, got up for a cup of tea, back to bed at 4. more tossing and turning, gave up at 5am.
Food today will be anything leftover from Xmas as there is plenty of snacky type stuff left and tea tonight will be a mix up of all things from the fridge and freezer, leftover curry, rice, indian party food and poppadoms etc. There's also a lot of different cheeses open, so hopefully we can finish most of that off too. ( I'm not much of a cheese lover but I'll do my best ) Could be a strange day food wise  :rotfl:.
I have a box of unopened mince pies and I'm umming and ahing whether to put it in the freezer as there are already 2 boxes in there :o. I need to sort out the freezers as I'm confused again as to the contents :o. Ooooh that means I will have to make another list :j. But I'm not going to do that today, it will have to wait, it's not going anywhere :rotfl:.

Holly I hope everything goes well for your op tomorrow. I will be thinking of you and sending healing vibes your way :lovethougTake care my friend xx
Gers did you enjoy Dr Who ? Personally I'm struggling with it and keep watching the episodes in the hope that it improves. So far no luck :(
Organza Lace gentle hugs for you. I can't imagine how you feel when your DD lives so far away.
SilverOldie hope Mum acknowledges you today. Perhaps buy your diary on the way there and start filling it in if she won't speak to you ? Two birds, one stone :rotfl:.
Poppy and taff thinking of you both and I hope you are ok.

Hope everyone has a good Wednesday, especially those back to the grind :(.
    Hugs to all

  • Holly, you sound very organised, thinking of you tomorrow.

Up early various cleaning and laundry bits got on with, cleaned the animal run, various washing loads underway. Bird food feeders re stocked.

A bit of banking checked over to check on December spends and try to budget for the year ahead.

Food planning it will be fish today a bit lighter from the massive meals it has been.

A slightly late Happy New Year everyone. Sorry, been awol again; simply didn't have the energy for t'internet.

Doglets go home tomorrow. [STRIKE]Tat [/STRIKE]decs have been taken down and put in their box; I've suggested Mr Wolf leave it to put in the loft til after the doglets have been picked up, lest we have a whippet trying to climb the loft ladder. :D

Late online today, I had an internet glitch which has now sorted itself out.

I had a quiet day yesterday, and was only across the door once to deliver some soup to a neighbour. I was astonished to read online that the local Sainsbury's was open. Today's a public holiday here in Scotland and I guess other retailers will be open. I'm quite happy to be cosy at home.

Thinking of you getting the log burner on Gers when you get home. It's -3 here, and my storage heating is marginally coping. I've an electric fire I could put on, but I'm more likely to break out the electric throw.

Lovely to see you online too Holly. We'll be thinking of you tomorrow and hoping all goes as well as it possibly can.

I'm leaving my small table top white led twiggy Christmas tree (looks nicer than it sounds!) up until 6 January. It's very soothing and I'd quite like to find something like it that's not a Christmas tree shape, for a bit of cheer in the dark nights both sides of Christmas. My micro led lights draped along the mantelpiece are going into a glass vase for the next few weeks.

Silver Oldie, I so understand how difficult it is to visit your mother and be ignored. It sounds like you need a break from the negative impact and look after yourself until you feel better able to cope with the situation again.

The swimming pool is open again tomorrow, hurrah. I'm not sure when the new yoga class starts up, it's on Monday evenings so maybe next week.

I hope everyone is keeping warm and cosy, and that you're having the best day possible. xxx

Made it home before darkness - always a bonus!

I had a pit stop to catch up with camelot for an hour, always a lovely thing to do. The traffic coming down from the A83 / A82 was non-stop with a long queue at the Loch Lomond end for miles heading towards Glasgow, in fact right back to Arrochar but no idea why. Just glad I was going the other way.

I've been out to fill up the bird feeders. When in W aitrose this morning I picked up four nets of hazelnuts reduced from £3 odd to £0.75. My Tufty will not be going hungry. :rotfl:

Nanny-widow - I've been watching old episodes from previous series of Dr Who lately and a lot of them are very 'iffy' too, even from the Peter Capaldi time. Think it's the writing. Mind you, I thought that the NY episode was really well done, loved the Dusty Bin Dalek :rotfl: I'll watch it again tomorrow.

WeeMidgie - I'll not bother lighting the woodburner tonight. I've got a blanket over my knees, had some hot food and a cup of tea. I'll head upstairs soon and snuggle into the fabulousness of the electric blanket!

Snoozer - I'll be sending good vibes out tomorrow for Steve.

Only need to unpack and I'm done for the evening!

Gers TBH I didn't like Peter Capaldi either, felt he was a bit wooden, but the writer now seems to be trying too hard to include everything. My fav was Tom Baker......... jelly baby anyone :rotfl:

    Glad you got home safely.
    Night night

Just sneaking in while it is still "today":o

OH and I managed to combine half a dozen things that needed doing and went off to the county town today. Did not manage to change an item of clothing (a summer weight jacket) for a larger size, but we had already worked out that it would be fine over a T shirt or summer shirt if left unzipped, so he is happy and spent his Christmas money while we were there in M&S. I bought 2 lovely gilets in M&S sale, one bright red the other vivid pink (no beige clothes for this old 'un)

Living in a small town in the country means that everything is very expensive, but had a Sainsbug voucher for 12p litre off fuel for a £40 spend, fuel already 6p litre cheaper than here. Spent just over the £40 on winter stores, so my stash cupboard will be chokker when I manage to stow it all away tomorrow:D

Holly sending you good vibes for tomorrow, also to Snoozer's Steve, along with copious ones for Polly and taff.

Hugs and spoons all round, keep warm everyone.
The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)
