Good morning,
Why is it that the morning that I have to be up early is the morning that the previously early risers decide to have a lie in? The HT is still tucked up in bed with his cat sitting on top of him, (how is he sleeping through that anyway?) with the cat giving me the "don't you dare" stare if I go near the bed :rotfl:
It's very frosty out. I'm hoping some of it defrosts before I have to leave the house. Fat class this morning and I'm hoping for either a teeny tiny loss or staying the same. I have at least put the left over mince pies in the freezer now so they're not tempting me any more. This afternoon I will have a baking session but I'll make brownies for the HT (I don't like them) and some Twinks hobnobs to post to my best mate t'other side of the Pennines.
OL I understand why you're sad but I'm happy for your daughter. She's found her place in life and she loves it - that's a wonderful thing, It's just a shame that it's so far away from you.
TA enjoy your trip out. I love hearing about your days out to places that I haven't been to but in theory are possible for me to reach. I should make a list for when the HT is on his school holidays.
Take care all of you

Morning folks.
Frosty outside,I think the nasty cold weather is coming our way. Something about the polar vortex having split.
Today is still a bank holiday here though I'm hoping that the tip is open. I've cleared out so much stuff from DM's fridge and cupboards which were mouldy.
Yesterday I spent chopping vegetables. Turnip, carrots, parsnips and onions for soup and the red cabbage, apple and onion too. My 'reward' was an uninterrupted hour with Dr Who and a glass of NY champagne :j
I'll be heading back up the road later this morning. It'll be a wrench to leave this lovely centrally heated place for my cold cottage! Mains gas is my only wish for my home.
For now I wish everyone a happy Wednesday.0 -
Morning everyone,
Cold and bright here today, lovely to see the sun.
Not masses planned for today, my DOH is back to work so will give the house a bit of a clean and get out for some fresh veg etc. We had a bit of a house meeting yesterday and highlighted a couple of largish expenses for the next couple of months, the money is in the bank but will keep an eye on what else goes out.
Hey Holly hope tomorrow goes as well as possible, will be thinking of you x
Hugs to all poorlies and those worried about loved ones, take care folks x0 -

Holly good to 'see' you, my thoughts will be with you tomorrow, you sound very organised
TA enjoy your day
OL I can understand this must feel very final for you.
Haven't seen or spoken to any one so far this year. We were going to see mother this morning but to go and be ignored, I really haven't got the energy to play her games.
I need to buy bread and a diary, not sure if we'll go today or tomorrow, there's bread in the freezer, so quite happy just to stay in the warm.
Hope you all have a good dayIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.0 -
Morning all,
Will be thinking of you tomorrow Holly.
Remind me never to make plans for getting up at 6am! Got woken up at 11pm by a circling helicopter and then was wide awake until 5.30am ... got fed up at about 1am so started a new crochet blanket. Went back to sleep at about 5:45am until just now.
Will get going shortly. Need to catch up with washing, have an online shop coming around noon and then will probably take it easy with crochet.
Thinking of you all, take care.

Morning (((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Its bright, but very cold, OH says the thermometer has gone down with a wump.
Off to the little chapel for coffee this morning and catch up with friends doings over the festive season.
I have just phoned for transport for my two appointments almost £100...ouch..... but I cannot get there any other way especially for my cataract journey to Loughborough.
Back to plain food today, sausage mash and beans!!0 -

Holly, best wishes for your op, I'll be sending good vibes your way tomorrow.
OL, I'm full of admiration for your daughter - as for dual citizenship, after the Brexit fiasco etc. I'd happily relinquish British citizenship for a European one, I'm ashamed now not proud.
I'm alone fr the first time in ages, Steve and his sister (who has the same name as me) have taken Ziggy out. It's a relief because Steve hasn't felt very well so the walking duties have fallen to me and I'm feeling tired.
We're planning to go home tomorrow because Steve has a hospital appointment on Friday, then 2 next week and will likely be starting treatment the week after next.
Laura and Brian are at a husky lodge for the next few nights, dog-sledding, snow-shoeing, skidooing and other things. She said that Nicholas Witchell was there and is a regular.0 -

Morning all, and a Happy New Year. Yesterday I didn't bother getting dressed and just did a lot of reading. Slept on the sofa last night as OH was back to work today and didn'wnt to keep him awake with my snoring [or vice versa
]
The kitchen is a tip so that will need doing but having lunch with friends first. Then I wil think about supper later and what leftover magic I can bring to it.
Discovered I missed a hospital appointment on Monday but didn't have a letter about it, upshot is tablets to take for ten years. Have another one tomorrow to go over the op and results and then to organise radiotherapy. It's the gift that keeps on giving...Holly, if you need to talk to anyone about the op or what it's like after, I don't mind if you PM me. I'll help if I can. Good luck with it, as the anaesthetist explained it to me, because they're not going inside, the recovery time is much quicker than say, for example if you were having your appendix out. So far, he's been right, but everyone is different. One really annoying thing so far is that the back of my side/under my arm itches, but even if I scratch it, it doesnt make any difference because it's numb.
NYE was very quiet, round a friends house, had one glass of wine and cheese and biscuits, played a game, watched some tv, drove home, the streets were completely empty, I was expecting taxi's whizzing left right and center but there weren't any. Maybe everyone went home early....
Will have to sort finances out this week, it's going to be very tight from now on, FB marketplace and ebay will be heavily involved in my future money making activities.
Wotcha Poppy.
Hope everyone is up for the year ahead and can cope with what's coming...Happy mid week day...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
