non delivery of heating oil (company closed)

hi,
long story short, we paid for 600l oil on 18th September, after lots of promises for delivery that did not appear i asked for a refund, several weeks and lot of phone calls later, the company said they would send me a cheque as refund this was mid December.
the company web site is now showing closed and there are lot of complaints on google and trustpilot about the same thing.
It looks like they have done a runner with alot of money.
The company is EVOLUTION FUELS ltd
We paid them by bacs, so cant claim through our bank.
What can we do now?
life is what you make it. . . a bit like playdough. just don't squeeze it to hard!

Order from someone else? Use a credit card in future IIWY.

This company has never been profitable, maybe do due diligence before you hand over £600 to a company, and pay by credit card.

I doubt they 'have done a runner' but most likely have declared bankruptcy.

That means you might get a proportion of your money back as an unsecured creditor.

Your bank might advise on the situation with the company

I never pay for oil until it has been delivered. I suggest you do that in future.

  • They have a proposal to strike off against them on Companies House - it’s usually a precursor to Administration or Liquidation.

    #FakeNews

The action was suspended a month ago, within just 7 days of being proposed, indicating the company have not "done a runner" at all...

Welcome to MSE, btw ... :D
  • Hmm .....it still says proposal to strike off on Co House?

I certainly wouldn’t be trusting them with that against their name.....but each to their own I guess 😉
