Happy New Year all, here's hoping for a happy and healtheri New Year for one and all.

Went out with DH,DBIL and DSIL last night to a diiner and dance. The food was lovley, the band were good but not many dance to songs. Taxi picked us up at 12.15, I was in bed by 1.00 but I think DH made it after 3.00.

Think I can hear DH rustling from bed. We are picking up his mum from the home after lunch to take her out for coffee. Will be nice to see her.

Been a busy busy break with DH and DD birthdays as well as Christmas will almost be a holiday to return to work, although the commute at 5.00 am is not what I look forward to.

I hope everyone has a good day, I read every day and hope to post more afternoon.

Lovely to see Holly posting, as Jackie said keep your chin up honey we are all for you. Hugs to anyone who needs them

Hi all, just popping by to wish everyone a happy, healthy and peaceful new year, a bit of wealth would come in handy, but I think a lot of us will settle for solvent if we could have the the first three.

Need to get a shift on call on Mum,I have been under the weather for a couple of days, so not been in case I was incubating a lurgy. Pretty lifeless, but otherwise OK. OH out cycling, making the most of the dry weather.

Hugs and spoons, have a good day all.

Wishing all fellow OSers a healthy, happy New Year,I think they're the most important but a bit of wealth wouldnt go amiss either ;)
Our NYE buffet went well and our friends enjoyed it.We had some music on and watched the fireworks on tv,then madness.Ly1a wasnt too bad as the noise masked a lot of the fireworks, but she woke me at 5.30 scratching her ear.I only went to bed at 2 so will be shattered later.
DGS has just arrived,DS wanted to go for a walk with him but he seems tired. He did go for one yesterday with his Mum & Stepdad so we'll let him chill for a bit.
I shall be putting a few things together for our break in the Lakes tomorrow, the weather has changed from endless greyness to some blue sky so I'm hoping it'll be clear for the next few days.
We have some leftovers from last night and I got some flat iron steak out for later. Most of the posh biscuits and chocs have been decluttered ;)
Nice to see you Holly x
Warm wishes to you all xxx

  • Really good to hear from you Holly, I'm thinking of you.

I've tidied our bedroom, cleaned the cooker and am about to get stuck on the crossword.

We went for drinks and snacks with a friend last night, that was lovely, then came home and I just managed to see the year in before I gave up, I'm not a late bird. I found it quite difficult to get to sleep, unusual for me but when I finally did, at least I slept through.

It is really quiet here, I bet all those party animals are still sleeping it off! Not that we didn't have a few drinks, we did but not industrial quantities.

I'm doing roast lamb this evening, not had tgat for a while and it is about the only form of lamb I will eat.

    Will catch up later.

    Hello All,

Apologies for not posting very much but was in the doldrums for much of 2018. (Parents getting elderly with associated health issues, stroke, cancer and Parkinson’s, so trying to assist as much as possible.) I am trying to engage more in 2019, so small steps will be posting more on these forums.

It is a lovely mild day, so I have, with the help of husband been getting rid of the mould that seems to collect around the window frames. Currently, got the windows and doors open as it smells like a swimming bath from the cleaning fluid. Feel much happier now that it has all gone.

Just sitting down with a cup of coffee, then I need to work on a shopping list for tomorrow’s shopping delivery. I am craving simple food such as veggies and fruit so am looking forward to my weekly veg/fruit box that comes on Friday.

    Thinking of you all.

    Afternoon All

Happy New Year everyone, may 2019 be filled with everything you wish for.

The hoards have gone! DS2 and GF left yesterday and DS2 and the DGC left this morning, it's eerily quiet! The house has been cleaned, beds stripped but only mine remade, the fire is on and I'm not moving until it's time for bed.

I didn't stay up for the bells last night, couldn't manage to stay awake as the DGC wore me out yesterday, I had an extra 6 year old too as his Mum and Dad were working.

Have a relaxing day, take care. XX
  • Evening folks. Belated Happy New Year to you all. Just back from my overnight with DD and the DGDs. We had a very very late night, well morning actually, I succumbed to bed at 2,00 but DD lasted till 4.00 as she got watching a film! I was almost dead on my feet and slept like a log which was most welcome after all my rubbish nights.

We have had a very lazy day watching films and grazing on all the leftovers from yesterday. So much for my intention of starting a sensible eating regime today!

Have a nice evening folks and ((HUGS)) as always for all the poorlies, sad, worried or lonely who need them xxx
