keyless anti theft car key shield?

Probably why they tend to go for the higher end stuff, more chance of keyless being present regardless of trim as it will be standard spec.. But people do spot/know - I was warned by a colleague who could tell the trim of my car by the alloys and told me I was at risk of the keyless trick. I already knew.
I keep saying I'll buy a steering wheel lock. Gonna have a look now.
Thing is the colleague is probably somewhat envious, others should live their lives as they do, you work you buy what you want there maybe enhanced risks with some items but such is the society we live in.
Otherwise we may as well have stuck with the Austin Allegro or Morris Marinas, they got stolen and didn't look flash.0 -
Sadly every car stolen from people I know NONE were keyless, and thefts I read about on FB and in the local paper, NONE mention keyless was in issue, car theft hasn't suddenly arrived since the introduction of keyless.
You are correct, it hasn't - but it is an easier way of stealing them and has less a priority from the police.0 -

The wives tale suggests it's easier, but in practice just another day for the thieves work, the same remote unlocking procedure in use for years can be hacked in the same way, and as others have mentioned , the perpetrators simply access the OBD port and off they go (assuming they haven't car jacked).
Often they (thieves) want the vehicle for the next chop shop store, so whether it's keyless or not makes no odds.
The risk is there with any vehicle.0 -
A faraday cage or box is a good idea, you can find them on Amazon.

Put them in the microwave overnight (don't switch it on!)
A microwave is a faraday cage.Life isn't about the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away. Like choking....0 -
Cant believe how many people are stupid enough to leave car keys on a table next to front door0

Two schools of thought on this one-
1) once your house is filled with knife wielding maniacs, high on PCP, who have just crowbarred your door open, you want them to grab the keys and be out of there to claim their £100 for delivering your AMG without having to "ask" you for the keys.
2) they can apparently hook them on a stick through the letter box, and if they can't they will walk away and bother someone else(unlikely with a prestige car, as they want their £100)
Not many people have a letter box in the front door that opens into the hall.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Interesting development, wonder what car thieves will do to overcome this, maybe chop your finger off 0 -

Wasn't it in The Da Vinci Code where they had an iris scanner on the door to a high-security location, and the bad guys just killed the guy and cut his eyes out? To be honest, I would rather have a key you can hand to them politely. Please, take the car, I insist ...If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0 -
If they want my 10 year old mondeo, they can take it.0
