dND those 8 things look to be an excellent idea and one we could all have a go at.
Yes as usual my IoW holiday was smashing, and we had a full two weeks of unbroken nice weather I came home then two weeks later went off for a short break to Torquay with my DDs Ma-in-law, and again we were very lucky with the weather and I never had to use a jumper or cardi at all
YorksLass I found a forgotten pot of green chutney in the cupboard last week my sis-in-law had made and given me last year, and it was delicious, it seems that being almost a year old it had matured nicely, and I have been using it with food ever since (lovely last night) as I had cajun chicken and steamed broccoli for dinner and a big dollop of chutney livened up the broccoli no end
Last of my leek and potato soup for a light lunch today, as I go to me DDs for dinner on Sundays.
I have a fancy to make a soup from the veg in my freezer tomorrow morning as I seem to have accrued lots of left over bits and bobs of frozen veg in various bags so if I chuck the whole lot in plus a decent spoon of lazy garlic fingers crossed I will have a nice soup for three or four days for lunch
I also found in one of my cupboards a box of crackers left from the start of the summer so they too will get used up this week. A few I will smash up with some paprika to make a coating for a couple of chicken legs in the freezer that will be Wednesday nights dinner I thinkI like to think of ways to use up what I have as much as possible if I can I have done this with crackers before and it gives a really nice crunchy taste to bland chicken I usually smear a bit of garlic puree over the legs first so the crunched up crackers has something to adhere to (saves using an egg )
I really do try to 'think outside the box' :)when it comes to MMM
Hope everyone has a good week
Cheers chums

Have had a few days pottering around the flat since I got back. I've sorted through my toiletries and identified that the only things I need in the foreseeable future are face cream and heat protection spray. I'm heading into town tomorrow to meet a friend so will get while there. My usual face cream is £26 which I definitely can't afford at the moment so will look for something cheaper.
Me and OH did a food audit/meal plan and bought accordingly. Last night I cooked a small ham and today I've used the water it was cooked in to make lentil soup. The water was quite salty so I only used a third of it and topped up with water. The rest has gone in the freezer for soup/risotto at a later date. The soup was lovely, enough left over for lunch tomorrow and some to go into the freezer.
Plan for the rest of the day is to go for a walk this afternoon and then make some banana loaf to use up some past it bananas.
Hope everyone is having a good week so farMortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.7.25 - £106,653.66

Day off work today - needed it as I love my job but it's really hectic. A huge improvement on my old job which made me pretty ill
Roasted a bendy leek with chilli and oil in my wee halogen oven and mixed through pasta with a squidge of ketchup for lunch. Was very tasty.
Revitalising old white cotton top by dyeing it with turmeric.
Posh mince out of the freezer (YS to £1.28) for tomorrow's dinner.
Time to try to figure out the peg loom Mum has given me:p:p:p

I had honestly never thought of that - I have a couple of slightly stained tops that I was going to use for rags but might try this.

I used two heaped tsp of turmeric and one of alum powder, mixed to a paste then added to very hot water. Tops into the water and agitated with a spurtle. Left for about an hour then into the washing machine on the rinse cycle. Came out bright yellow :j
Wore one today under a dress and nothing rubbed off :T0 -

A quick check-in from me.
Not much going on here apart from money going out - bought the heating oil and the wood for the woodburner. It's probably just in time as the temperatures are due to fall to the normal for the time of year. We were in the high 20's a couple of days ago!
Make do: A fail here as I had to buy new socks but in my defence, the old socks had been going for years and they were only thrown out when I wear through the heels.
Mend: The seam on a pair of my work trousers.
Minimize: Hopefully, me. I've just started on the Fast/Blood Sugar diet as due to a very stressful few months I was gaining weight at the rate of a kilo a week  Thankfully, due to a wonderful shop called Action that is in France I've been able to buy the diet shakes I require for not very much, otherwise I would have been minimizing my bank account. :rotfl:Aiming for a Champagne Lifestyle on a Lemonade Budget

Minimize/make do: husband has been eating several real African meals (most are lovely, but there are a few sauces dds and I cannot stomach), where he or I cooked an alternative for dds, and I took the opportunity to eat some freezer meals. The freezer meals were mainly potatoes and carrots, and I now realise that I really don't like potatoes from the freezer, neither grilled nor microwaved. Anyway, 4 meals gone, more space in the freezer, and I will not freeze boiled potatoes anymore. Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590

I usually use potatoes up the next day or day after, but I wanted some meals in the freezer, and I didn't have time to use them up back then, so I froze them. All very thrifty, but not enjoyable, and I think frugality should be bothAre you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590
