Ordered the part for the oven today - £26.98 so hopefully will be able to mend it and save a lot of money on buying a new cooker. It should come tomorrow so will report back.
Used up some mushrooms in an omelette for tea although had to chuck out a couple of totally slimy ones. Popped into the supermarket on the way home and managed to get 4 packs of gf hot cross buns for 8p eachMortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.7.25 - £106,653.66

I managed to mend my oven :T. Took quite a bit longer than expected but very pleased that I managed to do it.
Last night I made banana loaf to use up the last of some bananas which were over ripe. I also made frittata for lunches this week which used a variety of veg - tomato, onion, courgette, pepper and sweetcorn. There's still a bit of pepper and courgette left but they will get used in tonight's stir fry.
Beautiful weather here at the moment so minimising electricity use by hanging up all washing outside. I also started a spring clean over the weekend (minimising filth :rotfl:) and washed all the windows plus net curtains. I plan to do the curtains if it's nice weather this coming weekend.
I also did quite a bit in the garden - cut the grass, turned over the soil and planted tatties and onions. Rhubarb and garlic are both coming on well already.
Best go and get ready for work. Hope everyone has a good weekMortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.7.25 - £106,653.66

Wondered how you were getting on with mending your oven Mustafa - well done you! My cleaner filter arrived and I reassembled it - I know the cleaner has always been quite powerful but I had to raise the height when I did my carpet as it was picking the carpet up! Amazing what a good clean can do - perhaps I'll do it a bit more often lol.
Need to plant out my veg today while the weather is a bit cooler.
Not sure about the MMM but I did manage to get rid of some concrete planters to a Freecycler this weekSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Mended an underarm hole in dd1's PE shirt.
Mending pile is large, but I didn't have the time over the Easter break. I prefer to do any mending when dds are in bed and I can watch some prerecorded programme uninterrupted; with Easter break both dds were up late every night.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590 -
Make do... Various yogurt etc pots for seeds
Mend... The top I wear all the time (!!) at home is wearing thin ... Few more little holes patched.
Minimise... Jigsaws and a few books off to CS. Several expensive specialist magazines put on freecycle.A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks0 -
Day spent in the garden.
Mend - DH mended the compost heap. I had made it about 5 years ago from pallets. It is more stable now.
Minimize - compost - most of this is spread over the garden. The ash from the bonfire has also been scattered over the garden.
Make do - filling gaps in flower borders with plants that I had divided.0 -
Mend: 3 socks, 1 woollen sweater, cut the feet of a pair of girl's winter tights, 1 thermo legging.
Make do: all my lunches are leftovers. Yesterday was dd2's pizza crusts wher I had cut off where she had bitten off the pizza, added grated cheese to the remaining crusts and put them under the grill for a bit. Today will be asparagus soup from the cut-off bits of this weekend's green asparagus.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590 -
Hi
I have been looking for a thread like this to keep me on the straight and narrow, especially minimising and making do. I am trying to do the Marie Kondo method of tidying and storing clothes, etc. Having semi-retired a couple of years ago and now been dragged back to work! I want to retire and by cutting back my spending, decluttering and hopefully making some money on unwanted items, I can give up work and spend more time with my DGC.0
