Plus formatting computers and sending them takes time that you simply don't have when approaching assignment deadlines and trying to earn a living at the same time.
Then you need to learn the benefits of backing up regularly, if you cannot afford to lose them.
What if your laptop blew up, or was stolen?
People who don't back up important files regularly only have themselves to blame when things go wrong.0 -
You should be able to continue with all of your work because you will have made a backup of this critical data before returning the laptop to JLP, either to a local data store (e.g. USB hard drive, NAS, USB stick) or to the cloud (e.g. MS One Drive, DropBox etc).questionsquestions wrote: »I already had lots of research, notes and drafts on the laptop that I could not afford to lose.
Taking in to account public holidays, I wouldn't be expecting an update until the end of this week, with the laptop back in your hands potentially by the end of next week.0 -
Again, I'm not looking for advice about managing uni work, computers, and back ups. Luckily I already know all this so the situation was manageable. I'm also not really looking for passive aggressive snarks unless they're genuinely funny.
If anyone has any information about how long legally a large retailer can take to repair or refund for an expensive and faulty item then great! That would really help!0 -
